Windows 11 Enterprise 22H2
VideoStudio Ultimate 2022 25.1.0.472
This just started today. There is a random-length delay in starting the audio during playback. The delay is anywhere from 0 to 7 seconds. The audio doesn't play out of sync. It behaves as if the first few seconds of video have been muted. It doesn't matter where I start the playback. If I want to listen to a particular segment anywhere in my project, I have to start the playback 10 seconds earlier to make sure the audio has started playing before it gets to the part I want to hear.
That would just be annoying, except it does the same thing at the start of the rendered MP4 file! Inserting a muted segment at the beginning of the video doesn't help. The first few seconds of the real audio will still be delayed as if that muted segment wasn't even there.
Any ideas?

Re: Audio playback delay VS Ult 2022
I solved part of the problem by downgrading my audio drivers. They had been updated just a couple of days ago. Now playback works again within VideoStudio.
However, the rendered MP4 file is still missing the first 7 seconds of audio. In this case, it is always 7 seconds, which corresponds to the end of the first 2 segments in the project. Segment 1 is muted deliberately. Segment 2 is not and plays back fine within VS. Once exported to an MP4, the audio starts with segment 3.
I updated to VS Ultimate 2022 25.3.0.584. No change.
I disabled "Enable Hardware encode acceleration". No change.
I muted and unmuted segment 2. No change.

Fixed it!
I separated the audio on segment 2 and then it rendered correctly. I have no idea why.
Thanks for being a sounding board! LOL

Re: Audio playback delay VS Ult 2022
It is possible that the segment 2 video had mp3 audio recorded with the LAME codec, which VS does not like. Separating it may have converted it to standard .wav format which VS has no trouble with. Just a thought... Before seeing your final post, I had intended to suggest that your put the segment 2 video through a video recorder, with similar properties apart from the audio, which I would have suggested be set to .wav. But that is of course no longer necessary.
