Re: Install VS Ultimate on 2nd Computer
I have the same issue with the files you linked me to. It seems there is a problem with the server???
Also, i received am email from Corel Tech Support. I sent them all the same information and screenshots I have shared with you. Between you and me, i don't expect much out of Tech Support.
Its unfortunate there are so many people spending so much time with this. Thank you and i wish it were different.

Ken.
Are you downloading from the link i provided or running the web installer.
The link is from microsoft One Drive, I would not expect that to show the same error.
David, i have sent you a download link from the same one drive, view your Personal Messages

Re: Install VS Ultimate on 2nd Computer
Can I suggest here that you first check to see if you have this folder in Program Files (x86): C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2023 I realize that VS itself, if you didn't have this problem, would install in the 64 bit Program Files. But for some reason, VS installs its Setup files in Program Files (x86) and this is what is used to actually set up any future installation.
If you do have such a folder, then I would delete it, then again try the link that Trevor has provided. There should then be no chance that that folder -- which may have been installed in an earlier failed attempt from the Corel/Aludo servers -- is somehow interfering in this newer installation effort.

Re: Install VS Ultimate on 2nd Computer
It sounds like you are downloading the files again.
When you download the files from the One Drive folder you may have to unzip the files.
You should have three folders, Ultimate, Common, Standard Contents.
I did not provide the Bonus Features
Create a new folder called Video Studio 2023, inside this folder create one called 64bit
Place the 3 folder inside the 64bit folder - Ultimate, Common, Standard Contents.
Run the VideoStudio2023_Installer.exe but make sure you choose this new Video Studio 2023 folder for your save location folder.
The process should not download the files only verify they are correct, then proceed to install.
Clear as mud

Re: Install VS Ultimate on 2nd Computer
Ken,
To clarify my comments, using a mirror site in various parts of the world is common practice for vendors of popular software, usually done to increase the download speed by not a) congesting the main server, and b) reducing the transmission times, end-to-end, particularly when there is limited trans-oceanic capacity to a destination which can also cause congestion. Metering is also one way to even out the load on a server, but why Corel would do this is mystifying. Many of us here have fast broadband connections and to see metering is just frustrating. However, metering may not be an Alludo choice, but rather the manager of the mirror site.

Re: Install VS Ultimate on 2nd Computer
Ken Berry -- Thank you for your assistance with this issue. I have searched for the file folder you spoke of and it does not exist.
DavidK -- Thank you for the clarification. Now i understand.
Trevor -- I received another email from Corel Tech Support. Apparently, according to this email, and like you mentioned, Corel is aware of this problem. Tech Support has also sent links to folders that i assume are installation files; I also assume they are identical to the files you linked me to yesterday.
Moving forward with my issue, I attached a screenshot (Untitled 5.png) of the files I downloaded from the OneDrive link you sent me yesterday. This does not look right to me. I see a *.zip file and an empty file folder. Is something missing? Did the download get cut short?
I also have a screenshot (untitled 6.png) showing the inside of the *.zip file folder. I executed the ...Installer.exe yesterday and had no success. Thinking that there might have been a problem with the download yesterday, i wanted to start from scratch and try again today. However, the OneDrive link you sent yesterday is -- understandably --no longer valid.
So, if everything in my screenshots looks normal to you, ill execute the ...installer.exe again and report back. Otherwise, please send another link. (I'm going to hold open the link sent by Tech Support as my Plan "B".)
Thank you all for your continued assistance with my issues.

Re: Install VS Ultimate on 2nd Computer
I have a question to ask: I downloaded the file folder sent to me by Corel Tech Support. See attached Untitled 7.png. Notice the file sent by Tech Support is substantially larger than the file(s) you (Trevor) sent. Maybe i am thinking too much, but what are your thoughts on this?
I should be able to dig back into my issue tomorrow. Meantime, just curious. . .

Your best optin now is to use the link provided by Support
That will give you the correct installation files as your serial number allows.
I assume you purchased the Ultimate version that will include the Bonus Features, I did not provide that foder.
Support have asked me to remove my One Drive files as they are now providing active download links
Just seen your recent reply, unzip the Support folder, there should be several folders wthin a 64bit folder.
Running the VideoStudio install file should start the installation.

Re: Install VS Ultimate on 2nd Computer
Hello Trevor and thank you so much for your help and support.
A concern I have now is the email from Tech Support says I need to uninstall the previous version of VS BEFORE installing the new version. He also sent a link to a "Cleanup" software. I'm concerned that I will have nothing if the installation fails for whatever reason. I mean, I've upgraded my VS software twice and the process has failed half the time!!
Thoughts???

Yes Ken, it is always good to uninstall and run the cleanup before re-installation.

Re: Install VS Ultimate on 2nd Computer
Hi Ken
Just a quick summary of your position.
You are intending to install VideoStudio 2023 on your NEW computer, this is the first VS program to be installed.
Are you intending to also install your existing program VS2021 to the new computer.
If yes then install Video Studio 2021 first followed by 2023.
However you do not have the 2021 installation files.
If the download issue has not been fixed then your only option is to install Video Studio 2023 using the files provided by Tech Support.
As you have never installed 2023 then you do not need to run the Cleanup tool.

Re: Install VS Ultimate on 2nd Computer
Hi Trevor
Actually, I decided to go ahead and install VS2023 Ultimate on the same PC that VS 2021 Ultimate is currently running on. Long story short, it make more sense -- considering my use of the software -- to continue using the same PC.
Also, I was able to fully download a 4Gb file from Tech Support titled VideoStudio+2023+Ultimate.zip without a hitch. I have not yet attempted to extract this zip file; i hope to get back into it later today.
I did receive confirmation from Tech Support (as you said) stating they are aware of the problem and are working on a solution. I'm guessing this has happened to many users.
Anyway, thank you all for your assistance on this and i will be back in a day or two to post the results of this journey.
