PSP2022 include subfolders in navigation view

Try as I might, I couldn't find info in the forums or in help on how to have the navigation view include subfolders. Right now, only photos in the lowest level folders will show and I have to click on each subfolder individually. The only other option seems to be going to the other extreme of using the Smart Collection/All Photos to browse all the photos. I have over 185,000 photos and have them sorted by Century, Decade, Year, Month, Day/Event. I would like to be able to click on the folder for a month and browse all the photos taken that month without having to click on each individual day. How do I choose to include subfolders in the view?
