Wish List VideoStudio 2024
As always when a new version is released we provide a thread in which your wishes for the next version can be posted.
Please keep comments short and to the point, with any lengthy discussion of specific points taking place not in this thread but as separate items in the forum itself.
The wishlist allows us to direct any visiting Corel development staff to just one topic to see what users want rather than wading through a few hundred posts.

Re: Wish List VideoStudio 2024
Some bugs/optimization suggestions (for VS2024 or a patch for VS2023) :
1) When deleting an image from an overlay timeline, sometimes the scrubber shoots back to the beginning of the project 00:00:00. Cannot figure out what series of events causes that.
2) When loading a large project (1300 images on timeline), the project load fails with "insufficient memory" or can take upwards of 4-5 minutes to load. This also applies to "Recovering" a project after a crash. Workaround/something to fix: If you select the "Capture" tab before loading a project OR before clicking "yes" to recover, the project actually loads and it's much faster.
3) After closing a large project (like the one I referring to in point #2), when starting a new project to be used as a Blu-ray mastering project, I receive an "Out of memory." when I try to save this empty project.
4a) When creating a Blu-ray in the Share section under the "Edit Subtitle..." option, the "File Information" --> File name checkbox never remains unchecked/state is not saved after deselecting and going back into the edit subtitle option. This is an annoyance if you save a project to render in the future and have to remember to go in and deselect it each time you load the project/render the output.( See attachment: "File Information checkbox always checked no matter if you uncheck it.PNG")
4b) Disc Burner Label is not saved and reverts back to the current date
(see attachement: "Blu-ray label alway resets to date and is not saved.PNG")

Re: Wish List VideoStudio 2024
Hello
Last year, in the topic "VideoStudio 2023 Wishlist", I posted about the imaginary plugin Element 3D.
I am following this idea and will not be disappointed.
Sorry, I am copying some of the contents of the previous topic and re-posting the same contents in this topic in the hope that this idea will be realized in VideoStudio 2024.
The imaginary plugin that is supposed to replace 3D Title Editor, I call it Element 3D.
This name is probably familiar to you and reminds you of Adobe After Effects software.
Of course, the idea I have for the Element 3D plugin of VideoStudio software is very different from the Element 3D plugin of After Effects software, which I will mention below:
1- Element 3D in VideoStudio has much less features and a much simpler user interface than Element 3D in After Effects.
2- Unlike Element 3D in After Effects, which is made by another company called Video Copilot, Element 3D in VideoStudio will be made by Alludo itself, or the former Corel Corporation.
In a way, the Element 3D I have in mind for VideoStudio is very similar to the Clipmaker section of the panzoid.com website.
Element 3D, which is in my mind, is not a complex and advanced plugin, and it won't harm the simplicity of VideoStudio.
This dream plugin, while simple, allows VideoStudio users to create stunning videos.
This plugin (Element 3D) has the following features:
1- Easy exploration in the 3D space inside the plugin
2- Direct access to 2D objects with rectangle and circle shapes as well as 3D objects with cube, sphere and cylinder shapes
3- Adding texture to objects
4- Good lighting
5- Creating shadows of objects
6- Curved 3D text
7- No limitation of camera movement
8- Choosing two modes for the camera (Parallel Projection and Perspective Projection)
9- Accurate rotation of the object, text, light and camera in a circular path
10- Creating accelerated movement
11- Creating particles
12- Adding the model from CorelCAD software to the plugin
13- Creating a group in the layers panel
14- Powerful rendering
For an intuitive understanding of the above, please visit www.panzoid.com and the Clipmaker section.
This imaginary plugin (Element 3D) can be installed in Pinnacle Studio in addition to VideoStudio.
Some users may object that the Element 3D plugin is not a good idea and it is better to be build a separate software instead of this plugin.
If a new software is build with the features of the imaginary plugin of Element 3D, there is no problem in my opinion and I will greatly welcome the development of this software in the future.
Even Alludo can revive the old MotionStudio software and develop it to have all the features of the imaginary Element 3D plugin.
So the result is that my idea can be implemented in two ways:
1- Element 3D plugin that can be installed on VideoStudio and Pinnacle Studio softwares
2- New MotionStudio software

...sounds like a pretty complex plugin to me. That would require a vast amount of VS programming resources to accomplish this. There are 3rd party titlers that do what you are looking for. Have you ever seen Bluff Titler? The the price is inexpensive since you mention a standalone app.

Accelerated movement (Ease in & Ease out) is limited and has only 4 modes.
Increase it to 10 modes.
Increase it to 10 modes.

Unfortunately, BluffTitler is not the software that I have in my dream.

Bezier curves for transition in/out instead of a slider. More precise control.

Re: Wish List VideoStudio 2024
A really annoying problem in VideoStudio that professional users face is their lack of access to exact dimensions and coordinates.
In Pinnacle Studio, due to the presence of decimal numbers, it is possible to accurately set dimensions and coordinates, but in VideoStudio, we only have access to integers numbers. Lack of access to decimal numbers is the problem that bothers professional users.
In my opinion Aludo should respect the choice of users.
Tastes vary, maybe a professional user likes to use VideoStudio and doesn't want to use Pinnacle Studio.
Sorry, I don't mean to disrespect Pinnacle Studio users. They also like their own software (Pinnacle Studio) and I respect their choice.
I mean don't force a user to migrate from VideoStudio to Pinnacle Studio if they want to be more professional.
Decimal numbers are an important feature that a professional user wants.
VideoStudio development team, my audience is you, please give decimal numbers as a gift to us VideoStudio users.
VideoStudio development team, I have a suggestion for you.
I know you're afraid of decimal numbers because you think it's just going to hurt VideoStudio's UI, but if you add an option like the Auto Motion Blur option (located in the Customize Motion window), despite this new option, you should not afraid.
In the Customize Motion window, if a user wants to use the Auto Motion Blur feature, they will enable it, and it is disabled by default.
So, VideoStudio development team, please embed the special option for decimal numbers, which is disabled by default and can be enabled if users want, and access to decimal numbers will be provided.
I will introduce the windows that need decimal numbers in order, along with their corresponding pictures.
In the Customize Motion window, the following items must be equipped with decimal numbers:
1- Size
2- Position
3- Rotation
In the Mask Creator window, the following items must be equipped with decimal numbers:
1- Size
2- Position
3- Rotation
In the Split Screen window, the following items must be equipped with decimal numbers:
1- Size
2- Position
3- Rotation

After completing the Track Motion operation and in the Match Motion window, the following items must be equipped with decimal numbers:
1- Size
2- Offset
3- Rotation
For example, to make things more clear, suppose a professional user enters the Customize Motion window, after activating the decimal number option, they can only convert Size & Position & Rotation items from integers to decimal numbers.
I hope VideoStudio 2024 will be equipped with decimal numbers.

I'd like the ability to open more than one project on a timeline, as a sub project.

I'm sorry Amir, but "professional" is the user and not the software.
Amazing VSP projects were done in China just with VS X9 which was much inferior then current versions. Having said that, enhancing and fine tuned tools are important in any software.
** Do you know that in VEGAS PRO , which is much much more "professional" then VS, in the titler you can't do multi fonts multi colors in the same title? in VS you can do so I think since ulead.

One of these major limitations is the lack of decimal numbers.
The suggestion I made in the previous post in no way harms the simplicity of VideoStudio's user interface.

Look at the picture below.
This picture belongs to the Mask Creator window.
As you can see in the picture, in this window, you can zoom in on the desired subject.
Another very annoying thing in VideoStudio is the lack of access to zoom in other windows.
The Customize Motion & Split Screen & Match Motion windows must be equipped with the ability to zoom in on the desired subject.

Hi Guys, can anyone confirm if VS2023 Ultimate still only uses two channel audio (Dolby Digital) and not returned to 6 channel option. I have purchased 2019 and 21 but still have to use 2018 as it was the last version with DD 6 channel sound which I use often.
Thanks
