Is my PSP 2023 installation corrupt??

Post by Jen-Jen »

I have been using PSP since 1996 version 4, upgrading to pretty much most versions.
I've loved it. I once tried Photoshop for a while but didn't really see anything there for me that PSP didn't have.
I've now upgraded to PSP 2023 from 2018 and I can't believe how bad it is.
Crazy things are happening,
I make layers invisible but they still show - The undo, stops undoing - I click on File but the drop down doesn't work even though the other menus do - I go to clone but cursor doesn't move with the pen/mouse - No response
And other stuff.

It makes it impossible to work as I have to close all and restart. In all the years I've used PSP I have never had any issues whatsoever.
Are we getting inferior software now or is there something wrong with my installation?

Any idea what I can do about it please

Issues with Undo is a known issue and has been reported to Alludo/Corel. As far as your other issues you could try a reset to see if that corrects them for you.

Lucky that you can install it.
I've downloaded the trial version three times and even on a reboot it throws an error on install.

Raised a support ticket only to be asked for conformation of purchase.
Mind you, it took them 4 days to reply so I guess they don't have the time to properly read the details.
Looks like I won't be buying.

Hello

Kindly use the paintshop pro cleanup tool to clean the installation, it may be because the installation didn't go well

Then re try to install

I had the exact same problem (on my HP Inspiron 64bit laptop 8GB Ram), eventually a remote connection with a support engineer managed to get it installed.
I too found it to be a poor upgrade when compared to 2018, Stacking for example, falls far short of the mark. Corel Tech were contacted and supplied with RAW samples for comparison. I had uninstalled 2023 but following a request for more testing, I reinstalled with Installation taking 23 minutes to complete hanging at 99%, I almost gave up but the icon appeared just in time.
These samples, rendering fine on other programs, confirmed there are issues which do need addressing. I'm informed this will be looked at and an update duly released.
