I am sorry, but doing a search on this forum and following suggestions given, reading and following the steps in the owners manual, and checking out knowledge base has gotten me nowhere.
I have used the 'double arrow' to try and change the height of a track. I can see the 'outline' of the new size, whether trying to make a track smaller or larger, but when I release the mouse nothing changes. I have right clicked on the track 'header' to use the drop down menu to adjust either the single track or 'all the tracks' and nothing changes. I have gone into the sound mixer to adjust track height with the same non-results. I saw nothing in the track manager that seems to address this issue. There maybe a preference setting that needs to be changed but I have not found it or am not sure what change it would be.
While I'm at it: is there a way to render a section on the timeline in Videostudio?
Thanks, Barry

Re: Adjusting Track Height
bjtap1,
2 problems here: track height and limited project render. In turn, using the latest update to CVS2022 ultimate (25.3.0.584) as a reference baseline
1. adjusting track height
Move the mouse pointer over the bottom line of the track, in the LH pane, when you see the small double ended arrow appear click and drag to the height you want, more (fatter track) or less (thinner track). Release the mouse pointer and there you have it. Screenshot with markers/arrow to indicate position on track boundary follows 2. Rendering a section of a project timeline
open the project file (vsp) in the timeline
select the share mode tab, top of screen
the project will show in the preview window. using the left and right orange trim markers, drag them to the start and end of the section of the project that wish to render; the render part desired is the part with the white line between the markers.
in the RH pane, tick the box marked "create preview range only". Select the mode of render (same as project settings, or just computer file of the type selected from the options) and complete the parts for name and location of the result. See screenshot: Click the start button, and your selected part of the project file in the timeline will be rendered as a file as specified.

Re: Adjusting Track Height
DavidK,
Thanks for the replies:
1) I am using 2023 Ultimate and the track height simply does not change with the double arrow or the right click drop down menu.
2) I gather from you answer on the rendering that there is no way to render a section of video on the timeline. What I was hoping for was to be able to select a part of the time line that previews poorly, thus resulting in a smoother playback.

Re: Adjusting Track Height
Using 2023 ultimate, adjusting track height using the click n drag method I outlined works fine on my 2023 build 136 (check: help about) version. Cannot replicate your issue.
There is also a way to show all tracks - if you use a few in a just more than simple project, to avoid having to move up or down to see a specific track, you can select the show all tracks icon at the LH end of the timeline: screenshot

Re: Adjusting Track Height
DavidK,
Thanks again and this time you hit it on the nose. Toggling off the show all visible tracks allowed me to adjust the height of the tracks. Even the drop down menus worked. Solved!
