Blue Spinning Circle
About 50% of the time when I open VS2022 it opens to the Edit tab (which I selected as default) but I get the Windows blue spinning circle (loading icon) for about anywhere between 30sec to +1min, the other times it's ready to go immediately after the splash screen disappears, Why? Is there something I can do about it? On Task Manager I can see VS usage of CPU/Memory/Disk ticking up and down so I just wait until its done its thing.

Re: Blue Spinning Circle
Do you have a lot of clips in the library, it is possible that the program is scanning those on first launch.
Not sure if this will help but before closing Video Studio switch the library to Samples or a folder with little content.
Next start should open with that folder, may be quicker.
You could try resetting the library to confirm if it is the contents that is causing this delay.
Go to Settings – Library Manager - Export Library to create a backup of the library
Now Settings - Library Manager – Reset Library
Does that improve run time
Settings – Library Manager – Import Library to return to your library.

Is Library Manager executed per selected media folder OR all media folders? I read the user guide but it wasn't clear to me.You could try resetting the library to confirm if it is the contents that is causing this delay.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, nor diminish the value of Trevor's suggestion about redirecting VS to a folder with few files. However, I normally find that opening VS for the first time on a newly booted computer (not a new computer, just one recently turned on), takes a long time, first to get through the splash screen then the open VS screen but with the blue spinning circle. Getting to the point where it is ready to use currently takes around 40 seconds that first time. But after closing VS and later reopening it in the same boot period, it takes only 8 to 10 second to be fully open and ready for use.

Re: Blue Spinning Circle
I exited VS but before doing so I ensured that a media folder with only 17 clips was highlighted. I then performed a Windows "Restart". I believe a "Restart" is the same as a reboot. Upon re-opening VS there was no blue spinning circle (besides the splash screen) and it was immediately ready for use. In the past I have notice that when a media folder with 100s+ of clips is highlighted then I do get the blue spinning circle for about 30-50 secs.

This time I again exited VS but before doing so I ensured that a media folder with only 17 clips was highlighted. I then shut down the PC. Next morning I turn on the PC, re-open VS and there was no blue spinning circle (besides the splash screen) and it was immediately ready for use. Lata's suggestions seems to work.
