Hi
Nobody has asked what type of video you are editing, or any audio, mp3 using the Lame Codec can cause issues.
So what does your vsp contain.
You say “freezes caused by the dreaded Format Mismatch”, almost certain by the type of file you are using, non standard frame sizes, codec that video studio des not like.
Can you give details of your project.
Video downloaded from the internet can be troublesome, recordings by Iphone generally use variable frame rates.
How long is your project
Are you able to share your project as a Smart Package, we may be able to identify any issues

Lata, I said that it was NOT the dreaded Format Mismatch problem, not that it was. The problems are with footage from my Sony a6500, that I has been my primary camera since 2019 and I have edited literally thousands of hours of video on VS from this camera. It is the most compatible format with VS of any camera I own. My projects are all under 10 minutes.
Lata, you know I have been using VS for a long time. Give me a little credit for not being an idiot. There is a problem with VS 2022. I am not the only one seeing these constant crashes. VS has always been the crash king, but it is usually caused by some issue that you can fix or avoid doing. But it is now crashing just doing anything. I done all the standard troubleshooting techniques and nothing has helped. There is something seriously wrong with the program.
But now that I am using Davinci Resolve, I pretty much have no use for VS. Davinci runs circles around VS at every level. The workflow interface is like magic compared to VS. It is cutting my production time to less than half of what it would have taken in VS, even if it was not crashing all the time. I have finished five projects in the last 24 hours, without a single issue. Davinci has taken every piece of footage I have thrown at it from any device and not blinked. No having to convert it in Handbrake so VS won't scream and crash because it is not in the perfect format that VS can handle. No having to pray to the corel god to get through a project without it screwing it up.
It has just been nice to edit video smoothly for once. Do I wish Corel would get off their lazy butts and fix the longstanding issues with VS, so I could use it, of course. But since hell will freeze over before they do that, I am moving on.
I'm sorry for my sins Jesus, please forgive me. https://sorryformysins.com

Mmm....I've heard only positive things about DaVinci. But now that I am using Davinci Resolve, I pretty much have no use for VS. Davinci runs circles around VS at every level. The workflow interface is like magic compared to VS.... No having to pray to the corel god to get through a project without it screwing it up.
What's the point of having all these new bells & whistles if they don't work as advertised. More infuriating is when a feature worked in a prior version and is now buggy in a later version and not fixed. It has just been nice to edit video smoothly for once. Do I wish Corel would get off their lazy butts and fix the longstanding issues with VS, so I could use it, of course.
