Sudden Complete Black Screens While Using Corel VideoStudio 2022

Post by andy »

Hey all,

Whenever I have VideoStudio 2022 open from time to time my screen suddenly turns black like my monitor has lost its signal to my GPU. I also receive random freezes in my entire system occasionally. This is especially noticable whenever I don't move my mouse for a while. Sometimes it also freezes whenever I'm rendering and it's on 97%.

Does anyone else experience this, and what are some possible solutions that might fix this? I already tried reinstalling my driver (currently using 528.49 WHQL Studio driver). I also tried disabling hardware acceleration to no avail.

I've enclosed my entire pc build:

Code: Select all

Motherboard:
Intel B560

processor:
Intel Core i7-11700F

ram:
16GB

Video Card:
GeForce RTX 3060 Ti

Hard_Drive_Capacity:

Monitor/Display Make & Model:
ProLite B2280HS

Corel programs:
Corel Video Studio Ultimate 2022

Andy -- First off, welcome to the forum!

I've moved your post to the Video Studio forum as you're likely to get more responses here.

That being said, I personally have never had any of these blackouts, though I sometimes have what appear to be freezes. This is usually while the program is doing something relatively complicated like applying one of the more demanding filters. But if I am patient and let it go for a minute or two, VS appears to unfreeze itself. I put this down to it having completed whatever it was doing, and move on.

Hopefully others will intervene here with their own experiences.

Have you checked out the Windows power & sleep settings? What have you set the times for turning off the screen and device?

As a general practice I Save after each edit and I always move the mouse after a period of inactivity (1min).

A common issues with that GeForce card. Do a search "screen goes black GeForce RTX 3060 Ti" - here is a possible fix:
