Background image

Post by Peta »

Hi all
I first posted in this forum in 2005 - how time as flown. Many versions of VS ago I created a video for a refugee group, they now want it upgraded and although I am now retired, I am trying to replicate some of the original images, including the opening image which I am copying to this post. This is THE image of the DVD that they have on promotional material so before I persuade them to have an alternative I would appreciate it if anyone has a copy of this from older versions of VS if they could let me have a copy of it, or where I can find it.

I have VS 2022 Ultimate and also a VS 2018 Pro, neither have this image in their background images folder.

If anyone could help me with a copy, or at least the BG code for this image I'd be very grateful.

Thank you

Hi
I have looked through my files but not found that image.
The programs Image samples have not changed that much through different versions.
Is it possible it was from an Instant Project.

You are in luck
I found the image as part of Ulead Video Studio 10, that’s a long time ago
It is 720 x 480, If you need HD size I am sure an image editor ( PSP) would make a good jog of re-sizing.

Click the image to view in full, then right click to save image.

Hi Trevor
I wonder if I could beg a moment more of your time. I have another image from the old video I am upgrading, this one (see below) has a paintbrush-like edging, I can't even remember what the proper term for this is, but that ability to add different shapes and transparent 'masks' to images seems to have disappeared from the latest VideoStudio software. I remember applying these effects at the same time as adding pan and zoom, but I can't for the life of me find where to add this in VS Ultimate 2021? Could you possibly point me in the right direction please?

many thanks
Peta

That effect appears to be what was called the Chrome Key Mask Frame.
These are available from the Options Panel which over the previous versions has undergone some changes.
With the image in the overlay track, double click always opens the options panels, here we now see a number of tabs, choose the Blending tab, then Matte Modes as Mask Frames
There are 2 masks similar to your image

As my attached image from 2022 should be the same for 2021

Trevor - if you can get me the original image at full size, I'll run it thru Topaz Gigapixel to upscale it.
