I did reduce the size of an AVI video clip in my project timeline to insert a title beside it (in other words, the video is half the size of the screen with a title besides it).
I used the grid lines and the handles to reduce the video size in the video track.
Now I want to revert back to a full-size video (remove the title beside) and also replace the AVI video with a better resolution MP4 video.
When I do so, I am still stuck with the reduced size (handles) and the MP4 video is squeezed (distorded horizontally) to an aspect ratio of 1:1 (???) even when I extend the handles to full screen.
I did not find any way to RESET the video size to full screen with its original aspect ratio.
How can I reset the video size to its initial full-size and aspect ratio ?
Thanks !
Guy

Re: reset video size
I assume you still have the original video i.e. the version before you created the AVI for the title. In that case, you could finish the title and associated video. Then with the original mp4, which should be in its original size, cut off the first part which appears in the title and place it next to the end of the title.
This will of course mean there is a sudden jump from AVI to better quality mp4, but you may like that effect. If not, you will need to experiment to find an alternative. You could, for instance, insert a cross fade transition or even just slide the beginning of the mp4 under the end of the AVI for a brief moment, and create the crossfade that way.
Hopefully, any audio/music in your title will end with the title, otherwise there could be a bump as the mp4 starts with a slight bit of any audio gone.

Is your video the same ratio as the project settings?
Try right click in the actual video on Preview Screen
This reveals some re-size options and Anchor points
Fit to Screen
Keep aspect ratio
To remove the yellow bounding box deselect the scale mode as attached image

Re: reset video size
Solved !
Your hints led me to find out that right-clicking on the video on Preview screen does not bring up the dialog box where anchors and "original size" can be selected unless the "resize mode" is checked in the options pop-up menu of the video clip of the timeline (options pop-up brought up by right-clicking on the video in the timeline).
Many thanks for your help !

Re: reset video size
By the way, in VS2022, the yellow box with handles does not disappear even if I unselect both the handles or crop icons (unselect = both are white versus blue) of the preview window (resize mode is unchecked)...what am I doing wrong ?

Re: reset video size
I have checked the Crop and Scale options with no problems, always the yellow bounding box disappears from the preview screen when deselecting those options.brouillette wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 10:34 pm By the way, in VS2022, the yellow box with handles does not disappear even if I unselect both the handles or crop icons (unselect = both are white versus blue) of the preview window (resize mode is unchecked)...what am I doing wrong ?

Do you have any other filters applied that may affect this, although I have tried several with no issues?
I also tested using Video and Images, no problems either way
When you say Resize Mode do you mean the Scale Mode.

Re: reset video size
I found out why ! If "Show grid lines" is checked, the handles will not disappear even if both the handles and crop icons are off (= not selected = white color)
Many thanks Trevor for your help in clarifying this !

Re: reset video size
Also, to answer your question about "resize mode" and "scale mode" , there seems to be an inconsistency of terminology as "scale mode" is shown when putting the cursor on the "handles" icon besides the "crop mode" icon in the preview screen but "resize mode" is shown in the pop-up menu besides the "crop mode" when right-clicking on the clip in the timeline (checking or unchecking "resize mode" in the pop-up menu toggles the "scale mode" icon on or off in the preview screen).
If that is the case, it causes confusion and you may want to let Corel developers know.
Thanks !

Re: reset video size
Thanks Guy
I rarely use the right click for Scale and Crop generally use the icons below the preview screen
But yes a discrepancy in the text
