How to apply the new patch to DVD MF4...

Here's what to do if you installed the trial version and the patch can't find your installation:

1.) Call ULead Customer Service after 9:30am PST...Have your purchase confirmation information ready...(310) 896-6391

2.) Give the tech your info and they will verify your purchase and send you a link for the full version of DVD MF4.

3.) Download the file.

4.) Uninstall the registered trial version...Save any graphics or music you've added as the uninstall really dumps the whole directory.

5.) Install the full version and the extra content.

6.) Apply the patch and then reset your preferences.

The bottom-line is that registered or not...paid for or not...You cannot update the trial version of DVD MF4.

The patched full version is so superior in peformance to the registered and paid for trial version, I wouldn't even know where to start...It all works better and much faster!

I also want to add that I received a private message from another user that doesn't live in the U.S. asking for the URL to download the full version. I am sympathetic that this individual cannot use the phone number, but there's no way I will pass out that link...which incidentally appears to be directly tied to my purchase of DVD MF4.

If you cannot call ULead, go to their website:

http://www.ulead.com/tech/custservice.htm

...and send them a note and attach a copy of your purchase confirmation email. As I understand it, they will then send you the download link in a reply message.

Sorry: are you saying there is a complete new version of MF4? I have the original downloaded paid for version - registered. I have the updates (not tried the latest yet). Surely if there is a new version they should email registered users to let them know?

No, I am not saying that...There is a new update for DVD MF4 which cannot be applied to the trial version of the software even after you've paid for it and registered it. No one at ULead ever sent me a link to download the full version until I picked up the phone asked for it.

I see: I didn't even know you could register the trial version! Odd that because the trial version doesn't have AC3 support. I would have thought when you paid they would email you the link for the download - they did me.

Toonces is referring to the TBYB (try before you buy) version. This version, can be activated after purchasing the key code that makes it a full version. However, patch/plugins may not be able to detect the unlocked TBYB because of the different folder installation and registry entries.
