Reinstallation problems

Post by BROTHERKB »

Greetings,

I had issues with all of my Corel software and need to re-install VSP 2020 and 2022 (Windows 10-64 bit). When trying to install each I get a message on the final registration screen that I get a message the software is registered on another system but it is not. I have been dealing with customer service for a month and they continue to send me the same suggestions that do not work. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Thanks!

Hi BROTHERKB
Sorry you are having problems registering the programs
If the problem is associated directly with your registration then Corel / Alludo support would be the ones to sort that for you.
We can talk you through a clean install to see if that helps in any way. First your profile shows using Drive B is this correct or are you installing to Drive C:

1 /The EULA only allows us to install one copy of each version, ( I do not know how Alludo police that) but if we install to the laptop, uninstall then install to the desktop we will receive a strange looking warning, overcome by entering our account e-mail address.
Can you provide a screen shot of the error message?

2 / there has been some registration issues where the Messages became corrupt, deleting these messages fixed that particular problem, I assume Support have covered that.
Please note the Roaming folder may be hidden by windows explorer. Type %appdata% in the search box
Go to:-
C:\Users\trevo\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Messages
and
C:\ProgramData\Corel\Messages

3 / It is important that we use the same e-mail address as our Corel / Alludo registration e-mail address, this should be the address used to purchase the software.
Go to https://www.corel.com/en/support/ and sign-in to your account
Top right for Your Products - Registered Products – check your 2020 and 2021 programs serial numbers are correct and the same as you are using.
To the left of the panel “Your Account Information”, select Email address just to view the “Current E-Mail address”.

4 / un-installing the programs.
First use Program and Features to remove both programs
Then run the Cleanup tool for each, download from here:-
https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?t=59847

5 / Installing – you should need to input your serial number, use the serial number as in 3 above
After installation - register using the e-mail address as in 3 above.
Again I assume support have covered all that and that you are using the correct serial numbers and e-mail address.

6 / Optional - Before installation -- but I would Download the installation files again - run the VideoStudio2020_Installer.exe select a new empty Download Location folder.

TREVOR! Sorry I am just seeing this. Thank you so much! Been going back and forth with tech support for over a month but no one sent me the clean up tool; that did the trick! I have another question, and please let me know if I should submit a new query. I had to use the 2022 trial to work on something but I cannot save anything as a 2020 file. Is there a way to convert? I have another question but I will post separately. Thanks again!

Unfortunately NO ! as far as I know using the Trial creates VSP's that can only be opened with the Trial.

I have no idea why that should be as you would expect it to work.
I guess you could approach Alludo Support, don't expect an instant fix, so for your projects you would have to start again.
