constant blank screen

I just downloaded the trial for videostudio 9 and I love it. however, everytime I make changes i have to wait for the program to "catch up." for example. i import a video and i know that takes some time however when i am choosing it, i click on the filename and i have to wait about 5 min before it actually becomes selected. If i switch to something else I can't get back into videostudio until it finally catches up. what's the deal?

Some more information would help -- specifically your system configuration. Does it meet the Minimum System Requirements for Videostudio 9?

i have a p4 2.8, 752mb of ram, 200gb 7200rm hard drive and a geforce 6800, the system requirements are easily met

Unfortunately it could be anything from a faulty video file, faulty Video Studio, your Pc.
Have you run other ulead products without problems?

Have you applied the System Tweaks recommended by Ulead?
Press F1 and search the help files for System Tweaks.
Defragged your pc, shut down all background systems etc.

Does Video Studio work ok using the video clips from the library or is the problem related to all types.
