font query

Post by arbee »

When I click on the add text in PSP there are a lot of fonts with a @ in front of the name.
They are all duplicates of the fonts which show normally. Is this a problem or is it normal?

Thanks Kathy. I wonder if it's ok to delete them.

I'd find one which you are highly unlikely to ever use, make a copy to store elsewhere on the computer, and delete the original. Then see if its associated font without the @ is still usable. If it is, and I suspect it will be, you could then delete the other @fonts.

Thanks Ken
I tried to uninstall the @ fonts but get the message--
"unable to determine the file associated with the font".
Thanks again

How did you try to uninstall them? I would just have gone to the Fonts folder of C:\Windows and right clicked the font I wanted to get rid of, and then hit the Delete button or selected Delete in the dropdown menu.

Do you have a font manager on your computer? A simple Google search will bring up a number of free ones. One such is FontBase at https://fontba.se/ If it can "see" the @fonts, it should be able to delete them...

Seems like designer tool that works mostly with web fonts.

For local fonts I use free version of High-Logic MainType 11 - https://www.high-logic.com/font-manager/maintype
