Hi, I have been using VS2021-Pro for some time and have had good results with importing mpeg & other videos, editing them & generating an output video.
However when I do this with a TS file I get audio problems.
If in edit mode, I select a TS file & then move it to the video time line & play it, the video is fine but the audio is always corrupted even before I perform any editing.
The audio sounds like a comical slow audio tape at say 1/10 speed or slower. I have tried this with a few different TS files and the results are always the same.
Examples of some files that show the problem are Freeview transmission files having the properties:
Video: PAL, 25fps, 1920x1080, total bitrate ~ 2900kbps,
Audio= 256 or 192kbps 2 channel, sample rate 48kHz.
The TS files themselves play correctly with say VLC media player & on TV/ Monitor.
I am using a 64bit windows 10 PC that is fully up to date with plenty of storage space & RAM.
Is the problem just that VS2021 is not capable of handling TS files ?
Many thanks in advance that you can provide some insight as to how to edit & merge these files.

Re: VS2021 and TS files
JDH99,
Maybe others can help with your VS issue but I can offer a workaround. You can install tsMuxeR. It will allow you to add a variety of files including TS, MTS, M2TS. Then you can Join, Split & cut, Subtitles, etc. and Output to TS, M2TS, Blu-ray ISO, Blu-ray folder, AVCHD folder and Demux. My thought process is import problematic TS files and output to another using tsMuxeR and then try them in VS.

Hope this helps.

Re: VS2021 and TS files
Video Studio has some issues managing the MP3 Lame audio codec
From the timelines, If you right click your clip for properties what do they indicate, create an image of that panel to attach to your post.
Otherwise use MediaInfo to read the full properties of your TS files.
Should it be MP3 then concerting the files as Roberts suggestion would be the only option.
Where did the files come from and would they be copywrite protected, just a thought.
