Lost a 'tool bar'

Not sure what it's name is but its the toolbar which allows the user to change font, or font size etc after selecting Text Tool. I have searched View>Toolbars but can't find anywhere to make it display again.

I'm not sure it's a Toolbar, but as usual with the confusion on PSP of names, it's a Palette. So try clicking F4 which should bring it up. If that doesn't work, then left click up the top and in the dropdown menu choose Palettes > Tool Options. That should bring it up.

That's not what I used to 'see' which looked more like a 'ribbon' across the top of the screen directly under the all the menus however it does allow me to change fonts etc.

John - it sounds like your tools option palette is floating instead of docked. If so, just left click on it with your mouse and move toward the location it used to be and you will see the placement arrows to dock it.
