Extending a Video

Post by KenR60 »

Firstly, apologies for such a Silly Question but I have watched YouTube clips and haven't found the solution. Very New to Video and just bought VideoStudio
If I drop a video onto the Timeline and then drag it from the right longer, the video remains the same length, is there a setting where when I drag the video to the right it follows the same length in the timeline?

I did find that I can right Click the Video and select the Speed-Times-Lapse setting and manually try and guess the length but want to find if there is another way?

Welcome to the forum.

First, we have to know why you are wanting to drag the video to the right. That will drastically change the length of the video. It will no longer play at its original length but with a significant elongation of the timeframe, so that it looks slow to very slow... Is that what you want?

Hi
Can you update your profile to include your Video Studio version, some tools were added in the current versions.
The Stretch tool should do what you want and apply Speed / Time Lapse
One of the first 4 tools below the preview screen, to the right of Undo / Redo
Also holding the Shift key whilst dragging should do the same (although the cursor shape may be different.)

Stretching the video will have the effect to slow down playback by adding duplicate frames throughout the video, this
