Hello,
I have imported WMV a file on the time line, and I have cut a part, then I have exported the file to the MP4 format.
Close VS2001, restart VS, import the same original WMV file on the time-line, then I want to export MP4 the remaining part (the part that was not included in the 1st export): the export to MP4 is almost immediate, VS does not re-encode properly the entire remaining part, and..., the MP4 file cannot be read by VLC for ex.
Is there a way to force VS to re-encode a file ??
How to force re-encoding after cutting ?

Re: How to force re-encoding after cutting ?
After cutting / trimming the video, select one of the clips.
Go to the File menu for Save Trimmed Video
The clip will be rendered using the same properties, a WMV video will be saved to the working folder, a thumbnail / clip being placed in the library
Another option would be to set the Project Playback Range, you can set to a part of the project, to render that part using Share, choosing an appropriate profile

Thank you lata,
I don't why, but this does not seem intuitive to me: the logic of VS is always curious for me, maybe because I use to work with Magix most of the time...

Try unchecking "Enable Smart Render" on the Share page.
