I keep my video files and project folders synced between my desktop and laptop. I used to be, if I opened a project on the pc I had not been initially working on, VS would ask to relink the files and would go through one by one to do so, and I could be on my way picking up where I left of.
Suddenly that is no longer happening. And I can't seem to find a way to make it happen. I open the project to the attached image.
And I have to start over from square one. This is not a good thing. Can someone tell me how to make it re-link the videos?
Thanks so much for any assistance you can provide.

Re: VSU 2022 No longer relinking assets
Welcome to the forum, Julie.
First off, I have slightly edited the title of your post, from "linking" to "relinking" since that is the term used here, and will be self-explanatory to other users who might be able to help.
Next, can we assume that with a project you started on your laptop, all the video clips associated with that project were also on the laptop? Or when you say you sync these files with your PC, that means you also transfer the video clips to your PC for storage there as well? If so, are they stored on the main drive (say, C:\) or does the PC have another drive?
When you open your project file on the PC, is your laptop connected to the PC via a USB cord if in fact you don't also store your video clips on the PC?
Do you get any sort of message when you open the project file on the PC and the video clips in it are not found?

Re: VSU 2022 No longer relinking assets
Hi Ken,
Thanks for the fix and reply.
On my desktop, my corel project files are on the c drive and the video files are on the d drive.
On my laptop, my corel project files and video files are both stored on the c drive.
The machines are not connected. The ...\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\My Projects folders are synced between pcs by resilio sync, and the folders on each pc that contain the video files are also synced by resilio sync.
I used to receive the message about the clips not found and it asked me to re-link them. Now when I open, I get no message at all. I'd really like to get that feature back.
Regards,
Julie

Julie
From Settings – preferences (F6) there is an option for “re-link checking”
General or Edit tab not sure which.
Make sure this option is selected.

Lata thank you so much! I don't know how it got unchecked - but it's checked now. Thanks so very much, you've saved my behind!
