Clone and smart clone - stopped working

Hi,

Been using PSP 2023 ultimate for a few weeks and it's been great so far. But just starting yesterday
my clone tool just stopped working on some images. I just loaded up a .jpg
to remove some objects but it cannot it to work on this image.

Clone tool:
Right click to select the source then moving over to one side and holding down the left - does nothing. I have done this countless times in the last few weeks
and not had an issue.

smart clone tool also stopped working but after a "reset preferences / all" it now works.

My toolbar looks like this

Any advice would be great.

I also attached the "problem" image in case there's some issue with it.

You could first try resetting the clone tool as shown below

Things to check for selections you can't see. Selections -> Select None.

Make sure there are no new layers added, couldn't see the layers in your recording.

As Kathy_9 suggests, resetting the tool.

And if none of that works you may also want to try resetting the workspace to factory defaults.
