I've actually managed to get MF4 to make a dvd, at last. But my second attempt (a different project) crashes every time I try to burn it or generate an iso file. It always happens on the last video file (there are 6 in this project now) and throws up this error message before it closes itself:
The instruction at "0x02173ed0" referenced memory at "0x02222ea8". The memory could not be "read".
This is repeatable, and I can't see a way round it.
I've tracked it down to 2 avis. Both captured via MF4 from DV but with a long, chequered history (originally captured from HDCAM via JH3 to DSR45, then into my Vaio via firewire and Cinestream, files were incorrectly flagged as 4:3 so rendered in Cinestream to mov files, back to tape, recaptured as avi. Also tried processing in Premiere6LE, no better)
The error message addresses relate to these files, not to the programme, i.e. I get different messages depending on where these files are. I reckon both files have become corrupted in the past week, possibly by MF4 itself, don't know. Either way, I reckon my bewst solution now is to abandon this mproject and get on with something more encouraging.
