Install Plugins from PSP 2019 U into PPS 2023U

Post by iraisok »

Will the following apps from PSP 2019 U run in PSP 2023 U:
AfterShot3
Athentech_PerfectlyClear_2019
Any others I missed from PSP 2019 U or PSP 2018 U that I have ... might(?) run in 2023 U?

Now a loaded question - Anyone feel that PSP 2019 U with all the Effects I have is a better choice than 2023 U that I bought on Cyber Monday for a whopping $29.99? If the answer is a resounding YES, 2019 is far better, don't change, than the important question is would I be able to install 2019 in my new Laptop and have the original installation in my desktop work??? Thinking I'd need a 2nd license to 2019 if it was sensible choice.

Accurate answers and feeling would be much appreciated.

Tnx,
Ira

I haven't upgraded since 2019, mainly because (a) I haven't seen anything really worthwhile that I need from later versions, and (b) the later versions had bugs I wasn't happy to have to deal with - and that applies to 2023 at the moment. You can install in both of your computers. Basically you are only supposed to have one of the programs open at a time, but having it on two computers is otherwise acceptable.

Also any plugins you have must be 64-bit to work in 2023 as it no longer has the 32-bit version. But most plugins should work just fine.

The patched version of 2023 has introduced some odd bugs. If you can live with them, or you want some of the new tools or features, it only set you back $30. Nothing wrong with waiting to see how they fix it...if they fix it.

Gents -
Yes, I installed 2019 64 Bit (not both 64 and 32) and understand only the 64 Bit Plugins will work in 2023U.

Again, 2023U is going to be installed in my Laptop. Without going into what I do with 2019U, have you folks concluded that 2023U is that good that if I care to install it in my desktop that has 2019, has a few shortcuts and macros (that is what they were named), is it worth the hassle as I would unininstall 2019 using Revo Uninstaller Pro, I guess after I play with 2023.

?
Thanks much fir sharing your knowledge.

As JoeB said you can install your copy of 2019 on up to 3-5 computers that you own so long as you use the 2019 copy on only one computer at a time. You can also install 2023 right beside 2019 without issue. So you can have both programs on both your laptop and dekstop without needing to uninstall the other.

I recommend playing with 2023 for as long as possible to see if it works for you. Again 2023 introduced some odd bugs that people are finding annoying. And whether or not you find the tools that come with 2023 useful is up to you. I personally will not say that 2019 or 2023 is better.

Guys,
I installed PSP 2023U on my new laptop. I can't find my setup application (on my desktop where all are) for Nik Collection that is installed in PSP 2019U on my Desktop. I use it often and would like to use it in 2023U. It installs Program Files\Google\Nik Collection.

I have no clue how I got NIK COLLECTION It's not listed on my PSP2019U invoice or my PSP2018U invoice or a Humble Bundle????

HELP - Refresh My Memory ... although it ain't here...

As for 2023 vs 2019. I like a few 2023 built-in features but would like more of my 2019U (x64 plug-ins). I should be able to port over my scripts.

Tnx,
Ira

There was a short period of time when Google made the NIK Collection free. But then it was taken back and now it's for sale again.

Levi,

UPDATE: Search and you shall find. https://rebrand.ly/nikcollection_windows is the link to nikcollection-full-1.2.11.exe the old Google Free version that as you said, was last available in 2016, before DUO bought the rights to it and I see when beyond. No problem installing it in PSP 2023 U. You select the PSP folder in Program Files and the Nik dialog recognizes it as 'PhotoShop (custom)'. :D and it installs. Yippy.

Tomorrow I shall go forward with other items that I had in PSP 2019U. Unfortunately, 'Athentech_PerfectlyClear_2019' won't install. Says it is not 2019. Duh!

Darn - Anyone willing to share NiK Collection with an honest guy (me) who actually got it for free, too? Still, I ALWAYS archive d/l's. I am besides myself.

I remember you fixing PicToPainting. I reported results that you could not simulate and yet you were able to resolve the issue that we shared with others. I have all that hoping I could get that into 2023U also.
