I made a new project and I made it 1920 x 1080 which is the size of my monitor and what I want to do is make an album cover collage. I have downloaded all my images so now I'm ready to start placing album covers in the collage.
Problem is I cannot remember how to do this.
I need to be able to drag and drop an image into the collage and resize it and move it any way I want (like a little clockwise or counter-clockwise).
I imported my images into the Organizer so I'm ready to drag and drop and resize and move things around.
How do I get the moving and resizing going?
I have included a screenshot of what I have so far.

Re: Trying to make a collage
This is another problem I'm having when I try to move an album cover underneath the image is a white and gray checkerboard pattern. I want that thing gone. I never understood why that is there.
I've enclosed a screenshot of what I have so far.

First, once you drag an image onto the layers palette you can move and resize with the pick tool. Though moving with the Move tool is easier as you can hold SHIFT while moving and it'll only move the layer you currently have selected. With the pick tool, if you're not careful or don't directly click on the center point of the deformation cage you might accidentally select another layer by accident.
The checkerboard is a visual representation of "Transparency" it means there is no data there. If you save out the image to a format that supports transparency like PNG and there is checkerboard showing then that area will be transparent.
You can change the color and size of the checkerboard, even making it a solid color, the only real problem with this is it's not as easy to tell if you've left any transparent areas. If you're not worried about that you can go to File -> Preferences -> General Program Preferences.
In the left-hand list you'll see an option for 'Transparency and Shading" select that.
Then you'll see the Grid. The default is Medium, with a Light Grey Scheme. You can choose Color 1 and Color 2 to make your own scheme. If you change the scheme you can see they have a lot of different presets including solid colors and checkboard colors. Choose what you prefer.
I personally prefer the checkboard. It's just easier to distinguish where the transparency is.

When I want to place multiple images inside one another, I work in untabbed mode. I see you are not. I suggest you test this: go to the top menu Windows and uncheck Tabbed Documents. You will be able to drag and drop from/to the Layers Palette.
