Hello,
I'm just moved to VideoStudio 2022 (SP2, Version 25.2.0.566) and have some trouble rendering my videos for Instagram reels. I try to render vertical 1080x1920 and always get a black line at the right of the result as you can see in the image below.
Normally I use the Mobile Device MPEG-4 AVC (1080x1920, 30p, 5Mbps) profile to render. I tried changing options with no success, always get the black line at right if rendering 1080x1920. The only way this line does not appear on my videos is using the same parameters but reducing the frame size to 720x1280. (A workaround by now is to re-render the result whit other software).
I searched internet and this forum for hours but found anything about this. Any suggestion to solve this problem will be really welcome. Bellow, the parameters normally using to render my videos for Instagram Reels.
Thank you in advance.
Jordi. J. Canals

Re: VS 2022 black line at right rendering vertical
Hi Jordi
And welcome to the forums
First can I say that we are experiencing some problems running VS 2022 with the latest SP2 patch and are advising users to re-install the program without SP2., your version then being 25.1.0.472
Even so the tests below were using Service pack 1 and not 2.
OK
I do not use portrait mode but always widescreen 16:9
I ran a few tests rendering to 1080 x 1920 and do see a black line to the right of the frame.
I tried various options to fit the video to screen, even made the video oversized, whatever I try I still get a black line.
also rendered using different 1080 x 1920 options but still create the black line
This line does not show when rendering to 1920 x 1080 only when using portrait.
I will run more tests trying various project settings although failed to fix this so far.
I can only suggest you report this to Alludo Customer Support.

Re: VS 2022 black line at right rendering vertical
Confirm also in VS2020,
I guess not many Insteramers on the forum to alert about it.
Correction, the line is only when overlayed in VS. I loaded VS's rendered vertical.mp4 both to Vegas and to Kdnelive, overlayed it on white and no black line.
Played it in MPV and VLC no line so it's not in the video itself.

Thank you so much. I just reported it to Corel Support as other forum users found this problem from VS 2020.
Regards, Jordi.

Re: VS 2022 black line at right rendering vertical
Hi Jordi
One option I did not try was rendering to Mov using the Alpha channel, this allows for transparent backgrounds. From Share - Mov – last 3 profiles – I had to modify / change a profile to portrait.
The resultant video did not have the black line I assume replaced with transparency.
I do not know if Mov is a suitable format for you?

Thank you, Trevor
I tried what you say and have no black line. Unfortunately the mov format is not suitable for my purposes.
Regards, Jordi.
