Customize adding categories

Post by sheng-si »

I Know you can customize the commands within a categorie.
But is it also possible to ADD a categorie ?

Or is that wishful thinking ?

I myself think it is better/easier to create a new toolbar, but I saw that question in a facebook group and became interested in the possibility.

You can add blank menu groups and button groups.

In the View -> Customize dialog in the category list you can see the two items "New Menu" and "New Button Group" You can drag these wherever you want and then drag sub-items into them.

Quick note, you'll notice menu items often have an underlined character for fast selection of menu items. You can add this yourself to any menu item by adding a "&" character in front of the letter you want to be treated as the menu shortcut. This is not to be confused with keyboard shortcuts which are assigned in the Keyboard tab of the customize dialog.
