Layer merge corruption (persitant)

Post by bashment »

Layer merge corruption when combining two similar layers.
Two layers of text, two (hard to see) layers of yellow burn shadow
When merging the upper and lower black texts, the corruption shown, happens.
When merging the yellow burn layers they corrupt too.
When merging one black layer to one burn layer, no visible corruption.

Undo does not fix this. Sort of. Hiding the layer and unhiding it, shows it as fixed after you have used undo.
No undo, no fix.

I wanted to merge and move everything together but I will have to do them one at a time. I have noticed corruption in recent weeks with this, something I haven't noticed since PSP 9 (JASC)

Could you update your profile with your PSP version?
I cannot reproduce the defect.
Give us the exact steps you did.

As shown in the image, 2022. (24.1.0.27 on the about splash)

Simple duplicate vector (text) layer and convert the one I dont need to change to raster, then modify the other duplicate text to widen the stroke amount making a thicker black text for underneath. I dont think I converted the duplicate layer (to raster) although I may have but the shadow layers were raster layers. So that merge of vector and raster to raster may not be relevant.

Thank you for the steps.
However, I still can't reproduce the defect. I suggest that you do a reset (launch PSP with Shift key down).

I'm now getting random (not pinned it down to anything yet) crashes. Maybe when clicking the erase tool to remove things. Whole app just disappears.
