No way to play smooth video
Hello,
I have a 4k clip that after the rendering stage turns out not to be as smooth as the original. I also tried to use "Same as first video clip" with only the clip in question on trace, but it didn't solve the problem. Even the same clip at 50 frames instead of 60 didn't change the result.
Property here: https://imgur.com/a/ISi3AKO
Can you help me?

You are in Italy and as such would have installed the program to Pal standards using 25 / 50 fps.
Your video appears to be using 60fps.
As a test
Can you first start a new project from File- New Project (Ctrl+N)
Inserting your video to the timeline should show a message to match the project settings to your video properties.
Can you choose Details, the right hand panel shows the Video Properties, Highlight that text to copy and paste to your post here.
Choose Ok will set the project properties, you can check those from Settings – Project properties (Alt+Enter)
Details in the properties panel should be same as video details.
Now do Share – Same as First Clip.
With your project and video using the same settings the render result should be ok.
Can you post details of your project settings and Video Settings
You can attach an image (Jpeg) to your post, details here

Re: No way to play smooth video
Hello @lata,
thank you for your post.
I have a 50 f/s version of my clip, and with this I did the tests you suggested.
Looking through the possible selectable project properties, I don't see any that are similar to the clip properties.
Attached the properties of the video on the track.
If you want, I can privately send you a link for download the video in question.
Let me know. Thank you

No messages displayed. I remember the message going out in the past, but not in this case. Is there any option missing or does it not find a match between the possible properties? I just tried with a normal HD video clip and the message popped up.Can you first start a new project from File- New Project (Ctrl+N)

Re: No way to play smooth video
Hi
You indicated that your original video used 60fps, is this correct?
Can you provide the properties of your original video.
Right click the clip on the timeline and choose properties, what are they? create an image of that panel.
If you render / convert your video to use 50 fps you will be deleting 10 frames per second throughout the video, that will affect the quality of the video.
The properties you show above do not appear to have an audio stream???????

Re: No way to play smooth video
Hello,
the first clip was made at 60fs with Google Earth Studio and is an overview of a city. After talking with you, I made a second clip at 50fs, whose properties you see above, again with Google Earth Studio. Basically both the 60fs clip and the 50fs clip are original, so there was no conversion and no data loss. The clip has no audio because it had to be inserted into a movie I had to make, but due to the poor quality that results later in VS rendering I got stuck.
View your PM.
Thank you.

Re: No way to play smooth video
Hi Airone
Thanks for the sample - you should share this video here so others can test.
Just to explain for others, the video looks like normal 4k 60fps but no audio stream.
Airone I did not ask and you do not say which version of Video Studio you are using?
If VS 2022 then there may be a problem with the latest service pack, you should re-install VS without the service pack.
OK
Project Properties have to contain an audio stream, as your video does not have audio then the Show Messages to match properties will not work.
I suspect your project properties are set to standard 1920 x 1080 x 25fps.
You should manually set your project properties to your video files properties.
Settings – Project Properties – Mobile - New
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 3840 x 2160, 59.94 fps (60)
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 75000 Kbps, 16:9
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 192 Kbps
If you are still having timeline playback issues then enable Smart Render, right click the clip for create Smart Proxy File. ( may take a while to create)
Using the above settings -- rendering to Same as First Clip looked same as original.

Re: No way to play smooth video
Hello @lata,
thank you for reply.
This is the copy and past of the project properties:
File MPEG-4
24 Bit, 3840 x 2160, 59.94 fps
basato sul fotogramma
Video ad alto profilo H.264: 99999 kbps, 16:9
No audio
and this is the copy and past for rendering properties:
NTSC doppio (60 fps)
File MPEG-4
24 Bit, 3840 x 2160, 60 fps
basato sul fotogramma
Video ad alto profilo H.264: 75772 kbps
This is the rendered result:
https://we.tl/t-JKqOotnKTv
On my monitor the out file is much less fluid than the input file, I don't know if it's the same thing for you.
VS version is 2022, but I don't know if there is a service pack installled.
Thank you.

Re: No way to play smooth video
Hi
First I am not on my pc so cannot test your sample in detail until tomorrow.
Having a bad day with regards to version numbers.
Version starting 25.1 refers to service patch 1
Starting 25.2 refers to service patch 2 and the one you are using.
We know that SP2 is causing quality issued, I can only advise that you re-install the program without SP2.
However you do show properties using data rate of 99999kbps, I do not understand that as earlier 75772kbps were used.
Are we both testing the same video?

Re: No way to play smooth video
Hello @lata,
sorry for 99999, my error on project creation, but there was no change in the rendering result, the clip is the same as the one I sent you.
The video we use is the same, the one I sent you in PM.
Regarding the service packs, I don't know how to not install them. I have these three files available for installation,
Video_overlays_pack.exe
VideoStudio2022_Installer.exe
VS_templates.exe
but I think the installer is unique while the other two concern the addons.
Thank you.

Re: No way to play smooth video
Hi Airone
I have downloaded your Out.mp4 sample to my desktop PC there is a jerkiness when playing the video, although I cannot identify any duplicate frames.
When I render the MiniClip.mp4 the results are better quality.
I can only assume that installing the Service Patch (SP2 Update) is causing these issues.
Your earlier image shows your version to be 25.2.0.566, the “2” indicates Service Patch 2.
Can you uninstall VS 2022 by running the cleanup tool, download from here:-
https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?t=59847
You can then install Video Studio 2022 by running VideoStudio2022_Installer.exe
This will give you 25.1.0.472
When you run the program you will get a message to download the update, please ignore this message. Do not update to SP2.
The other two packs you show, I assume free when purchasing VS 2022. You can install those but I would wait a while till the Service Pack 2 issues have been sorted.
By the way what previous versions of Video Studio have you installed.

Re: No way to play smooth video
Hi Lata,
Thanks for infos. As soon as I get back to the computer I will try to uninstall and reinstall VS. Once done I try to create the output again and let you know.
The other versions that I haven't uninstalled yet are 2020 and 2021, I hope they don't create conflicts with the latest version. Should I use Clean-Up tools and clear them all before reinstalling VS2022?
Thanks again for your assistance.

Re: No way to play smooth video
You should have no problems in installing 2022 with earlier versions installed.
The cleanup tool may take out some of the Bonus Features, but they will be replaced when installing 2022 Ultimate.
The only limitation that versions have is opening say 2022 VSP projects in earlier versions, that option is not allowed.

Re: No way to play smooth video
I did as you said and reinstalled version 25.1.0.472 without applying the upgrade that I was asked to do (I wonder why they leave online upgrades that only make things worse).
Anyway, here is the result:
https://we.tl/t-JzmMfKuyKt
Really excellent, I would say better than the original (:-) (:-).
Tomorrow I will reinstall the addons and I will use this video as render benchmark.
Thanks again for your help in solving this problem, I hope I can reciprocate in the future.
See you soon.
