Hehe!
I've put a shortcut on my desktop for easy access to the Roaming Corel folder...

One of the things I did recently that seems so far, to keep the upgrade popups away...

Here the Messages folder contains two numeric named sub folders (One each for the two Corel PSP versions I have installed) each with a "messages.policy" file.

Instead of deleting the Messages, which immediately return after using PSP, I opened the Message.policy file in a text editor and changed the default Value= string... From value="opt-in" to value="opt-out" and so far No popups.

We shall see!
Be aware, I know nothing, I'm just peeing in the wind to see what happens.

The real reason for this post...
Inserted below is the main line from the messages.policy file...

<policylist version="1"><policy type="communication_option" value="opt-out" when="" timestamp="1669745527"/></policylist>

Please!
Anyone have any idea what the timestamp= numbers mean in human readable form?

Thanks
Ax

Timestamp numbers are probably the serial number / number of seconds of date and time, UNIX base. 1669745527 is Tuesday, November 29, 2022 6:12:07 PM. Timestamp 0 would be Thursday, January 1, 1970 12:00:00 AM GMT

arturox -- thanks for the hint about the messages.policy files. One of mine was already "opt-out" but I have now changed the others so we'll see what happens now...

Just has another little play with 2022 and 2018...
Almost to the end of day three now, without any sign of the update pop up.

So far so good. :-)

Reporting:
I'm now six day on from setting the "opt-out", and test every day using both 2023 and 2018 in both the AM and PM times.
No popup upgrade messages... So far. :-)

I too have spent about 6 days without a message -- well, without everything except my morning message 1 hour after opening the computer day after day. But I can live with that. And all since I dealt with the update helper files mentioned above.

Thanks for your advice, which now appears to have zapped those pesky Pop-Ups.

Excellent, useful to know others are having success with the fix. :-)

I'm now in my 8th day without the pop up messages.

Today, Sunday 11/12/2022 I had a surprise, the pop up for the Ultimate upgrade presented on screen for both 2018 and 2022.
Each had a tick box to Not show this update again, so I ticked 'em away... We shall see.

The "Message.policy" files remain as I'd configured them, but within PSP in "Message Preferences" the unticked boxes had mysteriously become ticked.
Now again unticked.

I certainly didn't change them!
Curiouser and curiouser said Alice...

Aha!
After posting the above I had a lightbulb moment, maybe there's a "Message.policy" file somewhere else.

Sure enough, in both the PSP versions Installed App Dirs (Folder), there is also a "Message.policy" file with the opt-in.

So changed the default "opt-in" to "opt-out" in both versions files, resaved and we shall see.
