Palette-Materials colours

Post by arturox »

As I noted in another thread, I obtained a copy of PSP 2022 and installed it.

All the little problems I encountered have now been answered and PSP 2022 works okay. (Thanks to all who helped).

I have one remaining problem I can't fathom, so I'm hoping someone knows the answer. :-)

In PSP 2018 the Materials palette displays as attached below with the default palette, and with an additional number of swatches available from the pull down menu next to the swatch/palette name.

In PSP 2022 there is only one swatch displayed, and nothing in the pull down menu.

Q1) Why is 2022 empty?

Q2) How to get some swatches in the 2022 Standard palette?

Thanks
Ax

Have you clicked on the button to the right of the 'Standard Palette' dropdown? It opens a dialogue box with a 'View' option. Check if "All" has a check mark.

I will add the standard palette is located here on your harddrive - C:\ProgramData\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2022\Corel_14

Anything not in a sub-folder (Palette) is part of the "standard" palette. If you hover-over the swatch you should see it's filename something like Corel_14_012.PSPSwatch. In my copy there are 128 such files in the root of the Corel_14 folder. All corresponding to the standard palette. So if having "All" checked under the "View" option doesn't work, look in the folder to see if all of the files are there.

Aha!
Thanks LeviFiction,
Yes the files were all there...
Reading your reply above reminded me... Recently when I was having a problem or two (One of the other recent threads) I had named out some PSP2022 stuff in "C:\ProgramData\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2022..." and forgot to rename it back.

Now renamed back and the palette sets are all back in place.
Appreciated. :-)

This PSP 2022 is giving me a lot of aggravation.

In all my PSP versions with the exception of 2022 Ctrl+A is Select all.

In PSP 2022 this does not work, though the the key map is just that, Ctrl+A . (I've checked the Key mappings).

Any solution please?

Thanks

That usually happens when the workspace is corrupted and needs to be reset. But since you've tried that, try this. Un-assign Ctrl + A. Save the workspace. Restart PSP. Re-assign Ctrl + A. See if that fixes it.

Aaaaaaahhhhhh!
Thanks for the thought LeviFiction, it did set me thinking a bit harder about the problem. :-) [I'm finding as I'm ageing fast, my perspicacity is not what it used to be] :-(

Despite the fact that in Menubar-Help-Keyboard map the various key were shown to be associated, in reality, as seen in View-Configure Keyboard no keys were actually associated.
Thus there were no keys mappings shown in various menus.
Bummer!

[Light bulb moment]

Just to test it wasn't corrupted I manually set Ctr+C and Ctrl+L and they both worked okay.

Then I clicked "Reset All" and obviously all the Mappings returned, so menus are now populated with the shortcuts.

Phew! Another bit of PSP 2022 set in order... I might actually do some work with it one day. :-)

Thanks...
