Text Direction wrong!!

Hi, PLEASE HELP!!
I've spent hours trying to fixt this.
I'm trying to write a few lines of text, but the direction keeps going up, ABOVE the previous text, when I press enter or into selection.
The option I have selected for direction is HORISZONTAL AND DOWN!!!! Horizontal and up isn't even an option.

Can someone please tell me how to fix this

Try a text reset:

H. I've added now that I'm using PSP 2018, I missed that question during the registration.
Thank you Jean-Luc, I've never used the preset texts and actually don't like any of them. But I reset it anyway to default and it didn't make a difference.
Then I chose one of them to check and it worked. But I only want plain Calibri text so why do I have to chose one of the presets?

Jean-Luc didn't mean you have to use a preset; he was only showing you where the text reset was located. Maybe post a screenshot of your complete work area showing the problem. There may be another setting that is off and that will help us to diagnose the issue.

Thanks so much Kathy for your time. I found a work round although it doesn't make sense.
Turns out that I could pick any of the Presets and then change the font and size on the ribbon, and then it worked.
I think there's a glitch as I've never had this issue before and why would you need to go to Presets if you end up not using them.
Jean-Luc was a great help because I wouldn't have thought to go anywhere near the Presets having never needed to before.

Without seeing the problem and all of your settings I can't be sure, but to me it sounded like the "Leading" value was off resulting in each new line moving backwards rather than downwards like expected.
