Fade-in

Post by Weeination »

What is the best way to have the beginning of a video clip fade-in from black to full visibility over the span of approximately one second?

If it matters, I already used the Brightness and Contast filter on that same clip. I also split the audio from that same clip. It is still there in the voice track but I used the audio filter to lower the volume to match the volume of the preceeding clip.

Normally I just insert a black panel at the beginning of the video, then insert the video. You can either set an automatic crossfade transition in Preferences > Edit and set the transition duration to 1 second; or else you just drag the video over the end of the black panel for the period you want and this manually creates a crossfade transition. The black and other panels are located up to the immediate right of the top of the preview screen -- see attached screenshot.
