Hi John... I just looked at your properties screenshot and I'll confirm I have the exact same extension omissions on my end as well...
And out of curiosity? ....Have you noticed if older finished project files sent to your proxy location (as well their original raw locations) suddenly changed from (avchd, mts, w2t, mp4 ...etc) into .wpl formats?
Not sure how many times I should ever need to re-install a simple program multiple times, let alone do a complete machine restore... And machine restore aside, I've reinstalled VS multiple times over the last few weeks... I'm about to rebuild an older but well endowed win7 Dell XPS i7 machine completely offline to see if that alleviates this random, yet persistent sudden issue...
Nothing like doing everything to get nothing done for 8 weeks now..
I'm as frustrated as you on this...

OBB -- one problem with all your reinstalls is that you probably think they are removing everything or at least overwriting whatever might be causing your problem. In fact, uninstalling VS and reinstalling it does not necessarily uninstall or overwrite an existing database. These are often simply left alone in the uninstall unless deleted manually by searching through the Registry. And the old ones are adopted and used again in the reinstall. So you end up with the same problem. A VS Resttore, on the other hand, totally recreates the databases... Anyway, that's my understanding.

I still believe you have a problem with the MTS codec, your image showing All Video is a list that Windows Explorer can see, codecs installed on the computer.
Motion Transport codec (mts – m2t) is clearly missing.
Video Studio will not be able to use those video types.
No Idea why the codec is missing, i doubt that had anything to do with VideoStudio, of course I may be wrong, the option to install K-lite may fix these missing codecs.
And yes i would be worried if it were my pc, wondering why one of the most common video formats appear to be missing.
I would do this
Reset Video Studio
Reinstall Video Studio
Re-install K-Lite
Scan using codec doctor software
Scan my pc for viruses

Re: VS2022 - just extraordinary - M2T movie clips (Sony Cam Standard) cauidng project to crash ?
Hi everybody. I have such a problem, I installed service pack 2 in VS2022. I worked on a 5-hour project, after finishing I looked at the final result, and the horror of the whole video when moving the video camera horizontally shakes, not only the movement of the camera, but also people during dancing or passing in front of the camera. On the 3rd day, I struggled until I figured out the error. Interesting export from M2T to M2T the image behaves normally, only export from M2T to MP4 or from MP4 to MP4 the image shakes. I work in PAL, I don't know if it does the same in NTSC, I haven't tried. That's why I'm writing so that someone can report it, and also because whoever edits in PAL so that SP2 for VS 2022 doesn't install SP2 is wrong. I would like one more piece of advice. When I start VS2022, the message to download and install SP2 keeps bothering me. How do I get rid of it so that the message does not appear? see a picture. Thank you. Vendi.

When you do the m2t to MP4 or the MP4 to MP4, are the main properties roughly similar i.e. same frame rate, both Upper Field First or Progressive; AVC/H.264 to AVC/H.264 (or the same but with H.265) or MPEG-4 AVC to MPEG-4 AVC?

Re: VS2022 - just extraordinary - M2T movie clips (Sony Cam Standard) cauidng project to crash ?
I am having issues that appear to be the same as others have posted before. Yes I have read the posts and responses, but I am still unsure what is going on and what the proposed FIX is - IF there is a fix.
MY SITUATION. A VS user for many years.
Moved up to VS2022 when it became available last year - NOT yet moved up to VS2023.
A project that I created (probably using VS2021 ?) needs an tweak/edit to be relevant for current usage. Just want to add a few scenes - nothing major technically BUT important for the relevance and curency of the clip.
Source content for the film is MAINLY my Sony Z Series video cam and it produces clips in M2T format.
These were (as usual) added into the project and with NO issues.
BUT.
When I now go back to try to EDIT the original .VSP project, Corel 2022 starts to load up the .VSP file then goes BANG and back to show me my desktop.
In trying to find out what is going wrong, I tried to create a brand new project, but when trying to AGAIN upload some of the project clip content, VS2022 does NOT see M2T files and does not allow me to select THAT format.
QUESTION - has VS changed and no longer supports the M2T codec ? I can see references in the Support Forum that suggest VS2023 provides support for M2T once again - IS THAT CORRECT. If I UPGRADE to VS 2023 will THAT step be all that is needed to THEN be able to EDIT my 2 years old project ? Any help on this is appreciated - I had not expected a MINOR tweak edit to an existing project to cause me so much TIME and PAIN in trying to do a SIMPLE project edit.

Are you able to open the project using CVS2021?
If you have applied filters that only 2021 provides then trying to open using 2022 may fail.
I do not think upgrading to 2023 will improve things, if needed you are best to re-install 2021.
M2T files are Motion Transport AVCHD, , the program certainly supports this format.
From Share AVCH.264 options use Mts / m2t.
Start a new project and import your m2t files, one will do as a test, you should / may get a message to match the project settings.
Choose Details to view the project and video properties, what are the video properties?
If the message does not show, right click a clip on the timeline for properties, what are they?
Now add more m2t files to run a test to edit the project
Can you provide your asp / project file, we can try to open, although will not be able to view your files.
Zip the VSP and attach to your post
