Specific FX Available?

Post by JChidester »

I'm new to this, just trying it out today. I'm looking for a couple of pretty simple transitions:

1. Box Roation - rotate a 'box' with one image rotating in to replace the previous. Ability to adjust the rotation speed and direction.

2. Simple dissolve - dissolving from one image to another. Ability to adjust the dissolve speed.

Here is the effect I'd like to create -- although this was done in FLASH.

Also - are there any third-party add-ins for this program such as different FX?

I'm looking for the same simple disolve - looks like we have to buy the F/X upgrade to get it.

*sigh* And I thought this was such a great product....

I dont think you have to buy the upgrade to achieve the effect you want, unless I am mistaken. I just made a small animation with, what I think, is what you are aiming for. Try the following.

1. Start a new animation
2. Import an image
3. In the timeline, right click on the first frame and choose duplicate.
4. Select the second frame in the timeline, and select the image. In the right window set the transparency to 99
5. Hold shift and select the first frame (now both frames should be highlighted)
6. Right click the first frame and choose "Tween"
7. In the dialogue box that pops up, make sure the "Start From Frame" is set to 1 and the End in frame is set to 2.
8. Make sure "Insert Frames" is selected and set the property to 12 and click "OK"
9. You should have frames in your timeline now. Click on the first frame.
10. Now import a new image and in the right window set its transparency to 99
11. Select your last frame and in the object window make sure you click the little eye beside the object to make it visible. Check its position as well. And set the transparency to 0
12. Hold shift and select the first frame. (Now all the frames should be highlighted)
13. Right click the first frame and select "Tween"
14. In the "Tween" popup window make sure the "Start" frame is set to 1, and the "End" frame is set to your last frame. Make sure to select "Update intermediate Frames". Then click on the "Objects" tab and select "Currently Selected Objects"
15. Click "Start Preview" and that should get you the desired effect.

Hope that helps. I tried to go through it again and explain each step as I made it. This is what mine turned out like:Image
