No Audio
I am wondering why the MPG4 video I am using with X8 does not show any audio in the properties of the file and as a result doesn't play any audio. When that same file is played with VLC and Windows there is clearly audio. This is the first time this has ever happened to me before. I have received several other files from the same source over the past several months and they all play audio in X8. I have done extensive editing with all of them. In the properties, all of the files are shown as video type MPEG AAAC and Audio 48000 Hz, 16 bit stereo. This file, like the others from that same source, also shows video of H.264 High Profile Video, yet for audio type X8 says None.

Hi
There is an app called MediaInfo, does an excellent job of reading video properties.
Use that to compare your video files.
Your video may be using a different audio codec that Video Studio does not support.

Re: No Audio
Hi lata,
Most of the video files from that source show 192 kb/s 48.0 kHz, 2 Channels, AAC LC with MediaInfo. Two show 128 kb/s 48.0 kHz, 2 Channels, AAC LC. The file that plays with no audio in Video Studio is 256 kb/s, 48.0 kHz, 2 Channels, AC-3 (Dolby Digital). Is that an audio codec which Video Studio does not support?

Hi
Digital Dolby AC3 and Video Studio..... if you are using Windows 7 then there is no support for digital dolby.
Using Windows 10 you should get sound, If your video is recorded using Surround Sound then playback will be stereo.
Your profile shows Windows 10, is this correct.

Re: No Audio
In case it matters, my computer originally came with Windows 7. Then shortly after I purchased it, I upgraded to Windows 10. At that time Windows 10 was a new OS and Microsoft offered a free upgrade.
