Not sure why you are having problems, using Split should be instant, irrespective of clip size
What are the properties of the clip you are tryng to split

Hello,
I have attached a screenshot of it.
I need to let you know that it took about 30 seconds for a project to open as well!

Re: Corel videostudio 22 It takes very long to perfom a split
I suspect part of your problem is that your video appears to use a variable frame rate, shown in your screen shot as being 29.86 fps. Video Studio has difficulty with those rates, and normally might not even process it at all, rather than just make processes longer as you are experiencing. The frame rate VS would prefer is the standard NTSC 29.97 fps (usually evened up to 30 fps).
In circumstances like this, we usually advise users having problems with variable frame rates, to put their video through a video conversion program like the freeware Handbrake, to produce a new mp4 with similar properties but a constant frame rate. Then try that out in VS and see if you get the same delay.
I assume you took the video using a smartphone since it is those which seem to be using variable frame rates these days. If so, check the Manual to see if you can set it to film with a constant frame rate.
As for Corel tech support, they very seldom appear here. This is a user to user forum, where users like me, Trevor/lata and RobertOZ try to help other users. If you want to speak to Corel Support, there are various options on https://www.videostudiopro.com/en/support/

Thank you for your input but I need to tell you that with VideoStudio 21 I didn't have that problem, "is the same phone that I record all the time" Also, that is a proxy file! can the issue be with the proxy?

Re: Corel videostudio 22 It takes very long to perfom a split
Can I just add a comment here, the properties you show on the image you provided cannot be proxy settings.
The program cannot create such a profile, besides the file name would be similar to ~Proxy_Sample_Lake.mp4
Typically user defined profile…
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1280x720, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
H.264 Baseline Profile Video: 4000 Kbps, 16:9
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 192 Kbps
That is assuming you have taken the trouble to create your own MP4 profile
By default the proxy uses recommended settings creating a unique format having a file extension of upx as …~Proxy_Sample_Lake.upx
The properties you show do resemble those created by a Iphone ...
Rather unusual non – standard properties
Baseline – one of the older low quality compression, probability an attempt to reduce file size.
The frame rate of 29.861 clearly indicates being variable, should be 29.97 for constant rate
1280 x 720, upscaled SD rather than HD
The audio uses Mono, generally stereo would be used.
You may be correct in that Video Studio 2021 did not have a problem with these types of video.
I would re-install that program and give it a go, if it produces good video, that will save you a lot of work.
Otherwise try using a video converter to create a more editable format.
Proxy Files are used to improve timeline playback, not used during rendering, although there was a time when proxies did affect render quality for some users. ( a bug)
If you feel that is a problem, disable the proxy option and remove any proxy files associated with your video, then try rendering.
A small double icon shows on the clip when proxies are being used, as the attached image

I have new clips at 30 fps but to no avail, same problem; takes long to render!
I have attached the clip properties, and from the task manager, probably it can help you help me!

Re: Corel videostudio 22 It takes very long to perfom a split
Hi
I am unsure what triggers the Not Responding when viewing Task Manager.
Clearly your image shows 39% cpu usage, so something is happening.
Normally when i see this I usually ignore - once rendering has completed the Not Responding disappears, I wonder if its triggered by mouse activity, or the lack of it. All editing being disabled whist rendering.
Your video properties look better as HD although still using the Baseline compression.
What do your project properties show?
Start a new project
Insert the New Video 16 to the top video timeline
You should get a message to allow you to match the project to the video.
Choose “details” will display the settings, the right hand panel being the video.
Do you see this message, if no, check Preferences F6 for Show Messages when Inserting First Video, should be ticked.
Ok / yes to the message
You can edit the project, if you wish.
Otherwise do Share – top left for same as project – change that option to Same as first video clip,
This will allow Smart Render to be more effective
With all settings correct and matching render times should be relatively fast.
Yes you may also see the Not Responding, provided there is cpu usage I would ignore it.

Re: Corel videostudio 22 It takes very long to perfom a split
Certainly running out of Ideas as to why your program is slow to complete a split
Just tried using 4.3 Gb video 40 minutes
Set cursor to approx. half way on timeline, Hit S on keyboard, split was immediate.
As mentioned before if you think 2021 preforms better you can install that version to compare with 2022, you can have both versions installed but only run one at a time.
You should also consider re-installing 2022
If it were my installation I would uninstall 2022 using the cleanup tool.
Install 2021 to test.
Then Install 2022 to compare with 2021
If you are able to share the New Video 16 we can try on our systems and if slow there would indicate it’s the video and not the program.

I have uninstalled it 2 times to no avail
I am attaching 2 screenshots from event viewer, perhaps this can tell you what the problem is!

Re: Corel videostudio 22 It takes very long to perfom a split
Hi
The APLoading .exe runs when first launching the program, once the program opens that file closes down. This file would not be used when splitting a clip.
I do not know why you should be getting errors when launching the program
The version shows as 25.1.0.472
The latest version being 25.2.0.566
The number 2 indicating Service Patch 2 has been installed
Can you check for updates, a little strange why the program is not prompting you to update?

I give up on 22 and just install 21 again and is behaving well. Thank you! I will ask Corel for a refund!
