Adjust Color Balance tool
G'day folks...Please, I need some help.
In PSP 9.01 there is a tool called "Adjust Color Balance" which I use often...
The tool bar Icon is a triangle with a "see-saw" and a block on each end of the see-saw.
I've attached a picture of the icon and the dialogue window.
I'm in the process of setting up a later version of PSP, but in the configure I'm unable to find this tool icon.
I'm aware that Corel renamed some of the tools, so I'm wondering if this was another tool they renamed?
So the question is... Does this tool still exist in the later Corel versions? (2018 and 2023)
If yes, has it been renamed?
Thanks
Arturox

Re: Adjust Color Balance tool
They later renamed it Adjust White Balance. Then replaced it with the current White Balance tool.
You can find this old version in two places: 1) Layers -> New Adjustment Layer -> White Balance
Or in the Customize dialog under "Unused Commands" -> Adjust White Balance.

Re: Adjust Color Balance tool
Aha!
Yes, I found them, unfortunately there are two different tools called much the same name, though they act differently and have similar icons. :-/
"New White Balance Adjustment Layer" is the one that is the same as the old "Adjust Color Balance" tool. (The one I'm after).
The icon for IT has one small difference, a small + on the bottom left of the icon.
Thanks for the pointer Levi, appreciated.

Re: Adjust Color Balance tool
I've just realised there's another tool I use a lot, missing.
"Raster Deform Tool" or Just Deform.
Any thoughts on what it might have been renamed as in later versions, assuming it is still in there somewhere?
If not! What could be used as a substitute?
Thanks

Re: Adjust Color Balance tool
In PSP 2022 below the Pen tool you can find the Warp Brush / Mesh Warp tool. Is that what you're looking for in 2018/2023?

Re: Adjust Color Balance tool
The Pick tool took over the old Deform tools. You no longer need a separate tool for raster and vector, the pick tool handles it all.

That is indeed what I require.

Re: Adjust Color Balance tool
Next step in my re-education, please.
In PSP 9.01 while using the Background eraser, holding down the space bar will convert it to a full eraser, then upon releasing the space bar, back to a Background eraser.
Here on PSP 9.01 this is a much used option.
This doesn't work in the Corel versions (2018 and 2022), so have they moved the control out of Space to something else, or just removed it?
Thanks

Re: Adjust Color Balance tool
The Eraser and Background Eraser tools are nested together. I noticed that Eraser has a keyboard shortcut key of X but Background Eraser didn't have one. So I added one for Background Eraser (Y) and I am able to toggle back and forth. Not as convenient as holding down the space bar but it might work for you.

Re: Adjust Color Balance tool
My PSP 9 manual doesn't mention what key does a temporary switch to the full eraser (or at least I couldn't find it with a quick perusal) but I remember the space key activating the pan tool with all brushes, the CTRL key activates the eyedropper, and Shift let's you draw straight line between two points.
But in PSP 2023, and therefore most likely 2022 as well, the help files specifically mention that it's the backspace key to temporarily convert to the eraser tool temporarily.

Aha!
Excellent, Backspace is indeedy the key to temporarily turn the Background eraser into a full eraser.
Thank again Levi, appreciated.

Re: Adjust Color Balance tool
I've just tested my PSP 2018 and that also required a Backspace key press to make Background eraser a full eraser. :-/
I wonder when and Why they changed that?
It's a bit unfortunate, having to reach across the keyboard, rather than the easy to reach Space bar.
