Not able to import new media files

After a reset of VideoStudio I couldn't import new media files anymore. At the place of the import symbol there was the + symbol to add a new map. I didn't know how to change that.
Then I saw a pushpin in that area and I must have clicked on it I guess because the import of media files was suddenly possible again.

Is there indeed a setting to lock the function to only add a new map which prevents the import of new files?

I don't seem to recall ever seeing an instruction to add a new map instead of importing new files. Where exactly in VideoStudio were you when this happened? I am attaching a screenshot of the Capture tab of VS 2021 which includes the word 'Import' but I am not sure if that is what you mean. Or were you, for example, under the Edit tab... Can we also assume that by 'pushpin' you mean 'button'?

I tried to make it visible. At excactly the same spot in the program you can add a new map (1st picture) or import media files (2nd picture)

Switching between the two functions is done by moving the mouse back and forth a bit in close proximity. Bit strange though.

Your second image shows a pin at the top above the menu list near Toevo.....
Clicking that pin will retain the menu list open, the panels will no longer close when moving the mouse

Yes, just click the pin again to switch it on and off
