VS2: cannot "Save selection" as a trimmed clip

Post by mokill »

In Video Studio 2, which I got by purchasing an AverMedia product, I created an MPG by capturing a TV show and now I am UNABLE to trim off the last 30 seconds of the clip.

I cannot find documentation on this anywhere. I open the product and open the click from the upper right hand open dialogue and then I find the split position and I use the little "scissor" icon to split the file. THe file appears to be split but when I select the larger first part of the video and I choose "Save Trimmed Video", then the VS2.0 program saves the entire clip to the "My Documents\Ulead VideoStudio\7.0" directory INSTEAD of just the segment clip that I thought I had selected.

In other words, i am unable to cut the video in half. Can anyone help or provide a link to where this process is described in detail? (I am an advanced Softare user and a Quality Assurance Engineer by trade.) It is ridiculous that I cant figure this out.

Hi mokill

First of all I think you are using video studio 7 not 2.

There was a problem with VS 7.

Read the FAQ’s at :-- http://www.ulead.co.uk/tech/vs/vs70faq.htm

Editing / Rendering
• After I installed VideoStudio 7 Update Patch, the “Save Trimmed Video” function doesn’t actually save a trimmed video but saves the original one.
o Sorry for the inconvenience. Please follow the procedure below to correct this problem.
1. Unzip UVS7_uvSEPA.zip to C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 7 program directory to overwrite original "uvSEPA.dll" file.
2. Unzip UVS7_mpgmux.zip to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\Mpeg directory to overwrite original "mpgmux.dll" file.
If that don’t work.

Delete the last 30 seconds from the timeline then use:-
Share----Create Video File

Hope this helps

thats interesting.

1. My "Movie Factory" program is version 2 SE . My Video Studio software, as you say, is actually version 7.x .
2. I couldnt find the download like to those zip archives and I had to "guess" and find them on some private persons website (which of course is a dangerous thing to trust)
3. The instructions DID fix the problem.

Thanks.
