Paste as Layer in position?

So, I've come back to PaintShop Pro after not using it much for a decade (my last version was X2). Partly that was because I was using university PCs and they all ran Photoshop. In any case I've just upgraded to 2023, and I've noticed a minor issue. That is, if I copy a section of a layer and Paste it as a Layer, it always positions itself in the centre, rather than where the copied section was selected from. Was this always the case? Is there a workaround which positions the pasted section in the same location as it was copied?

Instead of a copy/paste as new layer, do a Selections/Promote selection to a layer.

Excellent! I wonder if X2 had that as well? It'll all come back to me in time.
