beginner with pen options problems

I have paint shop pro ultimate 2021 and running windows 10 and trying to create a new outline shape with the pen, have looked in help and it looks as if I should have a lot of drop down options for the pen on the toolbar via the little arrow but there is non there and the only options I have are the buttons on the top status bar and these are limited to edit, knife mode, draw lines and poly lines, draw point to point, and freehand. Am I missing something?.

What is the name/model of the pen you are using? Can we assume you are using it with Win 10 for some time, and don't have trouble with it with other programs?

@kosisme - are you using a graphics pen or are you referring to the pen tool in PSP? Also, what options are you missing on the toolbar that you see listed in Help?

No, I have not used the pen tool in the past but I have looked at several help videos so should be able to figure out how to use it with some practise, my point is that there are no drop down options on the pen toolbar, just a plain pen button with no small corner arrow, which means there are no drop down options like curvature pen etc. Should my version of Paint shop pro include this option.

Could you post a screen capture of your COMPLETE workspace? It will help to identify the problem.

This is also a first for me of trying to include an attachment into a reply on this forum, not sure if I have succeeded in attaching the screen shot above, can you open this?.
Took screen shot - saved as a jpeg to desktop - clicked your add files button -in desktop clicked open - then in attachments clicked place in line.
Also tried copying and pasting and dragging and dropping into this reply but neither works.
Please let me know if this has worked and if not how can I insert a screenshot into a reply.

Your screen shot worked and your tool bar options look the same as mine. Which ones do you feel are missing?

On the right hand side of your tool options bar, beside "anti-alias", there's a triangle that should reveal "join:" and "miter limit:" options, whatever they may mean. You could also drag the right side of the options bar to the right to expose them permanently.

1) I suspect you are in Essentials workspace. More tools are visible in the Complete workspace (right-click on the empty workspace).
2) In the Pen toolbar, click on the little white arrow on the right to show the complete toolbar.
3) You are also in Tabbed mode. I prefer Untabbed (Window/uncheck Tabbed Documents) because I want to see my images side by side in my workspace.

@Jean-Luc - his toolbar matches mine and I'm in Complete with Tabbed Documents. I don't see a Pen tool in Essentials.

Not sure what the OP thinks is missing unless it's the "join" or "miter limit" that Forriner mentioned.

I have now found why I do not have the dropdown option of the CURVATURE PEN on my software, it is because the tutorial videos I have been watching were for adobe photo shop and not coral paint shop eg:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRNUIcvCuPQ, sorry about that, it is a pity because the project is drawing round the outline of a map which would have been much easier with this option. Sorry for wasting every ones time.
