I have owned several versions of PaintShop Pro and currently have PSP 2019. It has the Map Mode to show the location of your photos on a map. However, that feature is BROKEN and Corel has not fixed it!! I hope PSP 2024 will have a working Map function. If not, I'll be shopping for something else. Thanks!

They have removed that feature. I use an older version to copy paste and input coordinates.
It would be nice to use the free OpenStreetMap link. Very simple to implement.

Some of these might have already been added or be possible and PSP 2023 doesn't want to run on my system. It's too late for the current version but possibly for next year or with an update.

#1 Set fullscreen mode with status bar persistently. It's also annoying that it reverts back to windowed mode when pressing escape. Or basically an option to remove the title bar which is what fullscreen mode is. Tabs should not coexist with menu bars, EVER! This is a basic feature anyone can add in a few minutes so not having it is just a disregard for users.
#2 Clear and cut to background colour. Unless I'm missing something PSP always clears to transparent even on raster layers. So you have to tediously use tools to colour in to the background colour within the selection. Google also doesn't bring up a solution.
#3 More text manipulation. I couldn't find any way to set the vertical alignment of characters so had to resort to separate text that I positioned by hand having to adjust the kerning as a placeholder, even if transparent text was available (I couldn't find it) this still wouldn't have worked with the text cutter. Leading only works on the line level and not with individual characters.

More on working with text. I don't know if it's a bug or some undescribed way of handling it but sometimes you need to double click on text to select it with the text tool and then a third time to edit it while sometimes a single click is enough. For a single click guy such as myself this is confusing and it should be just one or the other preferably while being able to choose which one. When editing text you need to double click outside the box to add new text while a single click is probably expected.

The undo function should be expanded inside text boxes. If you make a mistake you now have to manually undo it or exit edit mode and undo all the changes you did.

I might be missing this but can't find "zoom to fit".

Ability to remove "Browse with...". I already have IrfanView set as my image viewer so don't need PSP to clutter my context menus like that.

Not directly program related but please a better scripting reference with examples where possible. The current one is a mess with a lot of undocumented functionality and options.

Thanks for Kathy_9 for starting the thread.

Stability and speed
Touch mode for the "Complete" workspace
Paste in place
Improved layer styles - addition of stroke for example and the ability to apply styles to layer groups

Everyone has different use cases so I appreciate the opportunity to share this.

For whatever reason, the user interface has been really bothering me lately. It needs to be more reorganized to make it more logical. The totality of the features just aren't well integrated.
Somebody with the right skills(not me) needs to rebuild it from scratch.

I will give one example. My installation of Paintshop Pro is called 'Complete' but it doesn't include the instant effects using artificial intelligence. I gotta go to the homepage. Then I gotta choose the 'photography' interface. After I have used one of the instant-effects, if I want to do any further editing, I gotta go back to the homepage, and then to the 'Complete' option. There are about ten mouse-clicks that I really don't think I should have to make.

Thanks for your attention to the matter. I look forward to PSP2024.

I am not sure what you mean by going back to the homepage. But if you are on the Complete workspace and need to go to the Photography page, all you do is right click virtually anywhere on your monitor screen within PSP and you should get a menu offering Workspaces > Photography, Essentials, Complete. Choose Photography. When you need to go back to Complete, simply right click on the monitor screen again, and in the menu which appears choose Workspaces > Complete. Only a couple of clicks for each workspace change, not 10.

Also, Instant Effects is a palette. You can enable it in the Complete Workspace from the menu. Either View->Palettes->Instant Effects. Or just Palettes-> Instant Effects

Please get rid of the annoying pop up ads! They began popping up in lower right, then in the middle of screen with other applications running. Might be coming in via their other free extras to the main software upgrade, but I do not know.

I tried some of the suggestions to get rid of the ads/messages mentioned in the locked thread, but ended up trashing Windows 10 Pro to the point it would not even boot up. Had to take it to a repair shop and they did a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro due to boot error which ended up costing over $400 to retain some documents. Fearful of installing PSP for fear of that ad stuff happening again.

Better HEIF support with the ability to save edited HEIF files. A lot of newer cameras shoot HEIF, in the case of some of Canons R series (R5 and R6 mark II), they will shoot HDR PQ (perceptual quantizer). HEIF is the future :D

Build in something like puppet warp as in photoshop.

Puppet Warp
Puppet Warp provides a visual mesh that lets you drastically distort specific image areas, while leaving other areas intact. Applications range from subtle image retouching (such as shaping hair) to total transformations (such as repositioning arms or legs).
Mesh warp?
