So, I wrote Corel and asked why the Fast Flick template that came in one of the bundles didn't work properly.
Their response.

The link is a purchase link for the same template, the one I told them I own, the one that isn't working properly.(Fragments, for what it's worth)
I replied,
This template is included in my FastFlick - it came as a part of either that, or one of the promotional bundles that was provided. I am not going to pay for this template, just to get one that works correctly.

Thanks for the opportunity to vent. I honestly get more help here with Corel products that I have ever gotten from Corel, who might want to spend some of the money they used buying and shuttering products and programs on hiring better tech assistance.

Sorry you have had problems with Corel Support, I do urge you to start a new ticket hopefully the second attempt will be more fruitful, keep us informed
As for Fast Flick templates can you give more details, if it has been installed with Video Studio then we can check that, if one of the free promotional bundles then I doubt I have those.
I did look at Welcome screen – Store - Free items but no FF templates there.
Video Studio
The Fast Flick templates should be available from the Templates Library – Video Montages
A screen shot of that or the Fast Flick gallery would ID it, unless of course it just does not load to Video Studio.

It's one installed with Fast Flick - the Fragments template.
If I open the template in VS, it actually works more or less correctly (there are some random white flashes where the transition fails, but it's manageable.
If I create a faulty show in FF, then "edit in VS" the template doesn't work properly at all - which is interesting at least.
I did start another ticket - no repsonse from that one yet, but it's only been three or four days I think.
I did get another response, this time with a link to another sales page. I have asked the rep what question they think I am asking, but still no answer there.
An interesting experience to say the least.

I did not have this template installed but did locate the Fast Flick ”Fragments” on my hard drive, part of a free package provided a few years ago.
I think the template may have been made for VS X8 some 9 years ago.
Even so If they are still providing these templates, they should work.
I believe there is a problem with the Chroma Key – video mask being applied to the images.
Applying masks over the years has been updated with the intro of the mask creator, It could be the old masks are not compatible with the ones used with VS 2022.
So far I have not been able to fix the template or recreate a working version.
At least i think i am on the right track suspecting the video masks.

Sorry for the long delay in my reply. Fragments was included with the version of FastFlick they sold me (and is one of the better, less cheesy possibilities) so my assumption was that it would work right out of the "box." But there's the error in assumptions in one shining example.
I definitely think you are right about the masks being the issue. If I open the project blank in VS, It will actually create (for the most part) what one would expect, however, the FastFlick project, which is the whole point of having FastFlick, behaves entirely differently. It didn't occur to me to see if the Fragments project exists in two places though, and maybe one version is "good" and one is bad.
Vis a vis Corel support - I have heard nothing back from them in over a week, in spite of still having an open ticket. I have, though, received numerous ads, popups, and emails trying to sell me new things, so maybe they are just busy.
