Problem Importing MTS Files into Video Studio 2021

I am also having the same problem opening those MTS samples.
So far I cannot see any difference with those and my own other than I have Surround Sound and your samples are using Stereo
You can probably ignore the K Lite

Can import to timeline OK , but no video or sound, looking at the properties, appear similar to other samples, so is there something with that particular camera that's causing the issue

Ok, now have 00126.mts displaying in timeline, all I did was use HD Video Converter to convert to .MTS, touched nothing else

This is what VS-X9 report on the 20.mts

VS 20 or 22 do not open it at all.
**VMS16 or Vlogger open the file just fine.

Magix Movie Edit Pro Premium 2021and Adobe Premiere Elements can import and play the original files without issue

your post and replies are identical to this post.

Some replies referring to the Panasonic cameras set up and reference to the HD Writer.
Did you check the cameras settings and or reset those to factory set.

It is a possibility that Video Studio is seeing the files as being copyright protected,

The recent reply here by RobertOZ, after using HD Writer would suggest to me that you use that software to transfer the files from the camcorder to the pc, if that process is successful then there will be no need to convert the files, Thanks for that Robert, although I do own a SD 900 camcorder ( away being mended) I never received the HD Writer software.

* I see the OP files are 1080/50P 25Mbs, I never shoot that high for practical reasons.
Are only those 2 have the culprit ? or the full SD ?

I own a hdc sd 900 panasonic, records to same as Robs cam, as far as i can tell. My cam is away being repaired.
Recordings done as auto uses 1920 x 1080 x 50p, we can choose a manual setting as 25 fps but uses interlacing UFF
Video Studio is a bit slow editing mts types, but does cope better with progressive 50p fps.
Just importing mts to video studio is much slower than importing similar mpeg4 files
So when i burnt bluray i had to use 25 and interlaced, if i edit for pc playback or tv but not bluray then 50p seems the best option
Whatever settings i have used the video has never failed using Video Studio.


And as far as we have been told the problem affects all recordings not just the 2 samples?

OK.... So I took my VXF1 and shoot 2 short 1080 50P clips.
All my VS's import and play them correctly.
*** Oh... I do have K-lite 16.0.5 basic installed
