"cannot start the capture graph"...newbie here

Post by Swarmpooper »

Hi Everyone.
As a novice to video editing, I bought Coral VS to go with my Coral draw suite. Normally, I just use VS to edit and stitch together cell phone video and pictures for my YouTube channel. However, I wanted to start podcasting on a topic.
Thinking this would be pretty basic click and start, I obviously have no idea what I'm doing.
I have a Logitech 922c for my webcam, and a Rode podmic for my audio input.
My mic works, the camera works initially when I open up the capture tab. The Capture video button is flashing. The camera selected is the right camera. However when I click to start, I get the "Cannot start the capture graph" error and I cannot go any further and my camera turns off.
any suggestions?
I could record right to YouTube but I want to be able to edit, cut, add a couple transitions and clips from my phone and then upload.
I'm sure this is so basic you guys are slapping your foreheads but yep, I'm a noob and could really use your help.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Swarmpooper
and welcome to the forums
"cannot start the capture graph" has been raised before, doing a forum search will find some posts.
I do not think there was a definite solution to this error although some posters indicate switching the camera on in a particular order, after opening Capture seemed to help with the message new capture device detected

However..........
Video Studio 2022 does have its own capture app called Multi Cam Capture 2 lite
Open via Start menu, desktop icon or from program Record/Capture options, from the tool bar the film disc icon with red dot then multicam capture
MCC2L will allow you to capture from your we cam and desktop

Thank you I will try tonight and post an update.
I did see a previous thread but the commenter got jumped for posting to a 6 year old thread and the answers were way beyond my technical understanding ( I am a woodworker and small urban farmer. Computer stuff, in depth, requires someone to hold my hand, lol)

In addition to advice from Trevor, ensure that you have the latest version of Logitech Capture installed, File name Capture_2.08.11.exe I have a Logitech C920 and have no issue recording direct from the Logitech software

Thank you, the multi cam capture works and actually, that's what I will need to use anyway since I will be referencing items on my desktop and interviewing another remote person. I was not aware of this feature. Thank you!!

So is this a driver I can download from logitech's site? Just open an .exe file and install?
