FPS problem with Corel MultiCam Studio XL
Hi everyone, I’m new
I recently bought Corel MultiCam XL. I’ve played around with it, and it’s an awesome idea for a video editor! Unfortunately, I have a significant problem with the fps. I have it set up for 30 fps, but it only goes 15 fps. I know this is a fairly old product, but could anyone help me? Thanks

Re: FPS problem with Corel MultiCam Studio XL
Hi Kyle045 and welcome to the forum, here is the properties box of a just recorded video, as you can see the fps rate is 30, so the program is working correctly, can you provide a bit more information on the recording format selected, the source of your capture, maybe complete your profile, floundering a bit here as really have no idea on why you cannot record at 30 fps, unless what you are trying to record is only 15fps

Re: FPS problem with Corel MultiCam Studio XL
Hi
There are several versions of Multi Cam Capture some free bundled with other Corel programs, Multi Cam Capture and Multi Cam Capture Lite.
Multi Cam Capture XL is a different beast all together, can you confirm the version of MCC XL you are using
I see Version 1.1.639.0, even so there may be several versions of MCCXL
I did try recording to AVC ( Mpeg4) which created 29.97 fps, I have not found how to change that to 25fps, my preferred setting as I live in the UK?

Re: FPS problem with Corel MultiCam Studio XL
Like you Trevor, I also have MCCXL version 1.1.639.0, which, no matter what format is selected can only record in 29.97 fps
Yet MCC 2.0 Lite can record in 15. 25 or 30 fps, strange that whilst the full version gives more options of formats, the Lite versions allows different fps rates
Have Corel now ditched MCCXL it no longer appears on any of the promotional material

Re: FPS problem with Corel MultiCam Studio XL
Thanks for the reply guys! Sorry for the late post. And I also apologize for creating a new account... I forgot the password for my first account (Kyle045). When I tried clicking on the 'forget my password' page, it would keep going blank - with no email sent. And when I clicked to talk to the board administrator to solve the problem, it said the board administrator is no longer available. ;(
But thank you all for the responses! I'm looking at the current info for my Corel Multicam program, and this is what it has...
Corel MultiCam Capture XL, version 1.1.639.0, Copyright 2019
- Possible export options: AVC, MPEG2, MTS, M2T.
I want my videos to be 1920x1080, 30 fps, and with both 2 webcams and 1 screen capture. All my past videos with Corel MultiCam Capture XL look like they're running at 15 fps. Afterwards, I've looked at their file properties - which says '1920x1080' and '30 fps'... Hope I didn't make this confusing... let me know if you need any more info from me.

Re: FPS problem with Corel MultiCam Studio XL
Kyle, why do you believe that MCCXL is recording in 15 fps, According to MediaInfo vidoes are recorded at 29 97 fps and the clips appear to play at the correct fps, nice smooth playback

Re: FPS problem with Corel MultiCam Studio XL
For clarity, I’m asking for a solution - whether it be with the MCCXL software itself, a glitch, software conflict, user error, or whatever. The ‘properties’ window does say, “1920x1080, 30 fps” … but my eyes say another. It’s neither 60 fps, 30 fps, nor 24 fps.
Other camera software on my PC (such as OBS) have no problem whatsoever with the webcams. So I feel sort-of stuck…

A lot of forum members use Dropbox or similar to upload videos, Dropbox then provides you with a link which you attach to your next post

Using MCC XL are you capturing from a web cam or recording the desktop.
If your recording looks like 15fps is that effect slowing down the video or does it play in real time.
It is possible that recording a web cam that only supports 15fps could cause problems, however MCC XL set to 30 fps will simply create duplicate frames.
Try this
Start a new project
Add your video to the top track, you should get a message to change the project settings, but first choose detail, the righthand panel shows the video properties. You could copy and paste them here.
From the timeline press your keyboard key F to nudge forward frame by frame, each press should advance the video, if there are any duplicate frames then you will not see any change.
As Robert’s suggestion use a sharing site to provide a recording

Re: FPS problem with Corel MultiCam Studio XL
It works well on your computer, but not mine. Saying that, I'm simply here to ask what the problem may be on my own computer.RobertOZ wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 6:53 am Here is a link to a video just made with MCC XL, seems OK to me, but I do have very old eyes

Giving it some thought, I prefer to not send a video. I don't want to spend too much trouble on this problem. But simply put: In the case that my two webcams are 30 fps, proper webcam exposure, good lighting, and my webcams work very well with various other pc software (such as OBS and StreamLabs). My cpu, gpu, and ram usage are all good. No overuse. But I just can't figure it out... And as Robert put it, it really is an AMAZING video editor if it works properly. But I can't think of any other problem it might be.Using MCC XL are you capturing from a web cam or recording the desktop.
