Occasionally when I drag snapshots (taken) on my Samsung Smartphone) onto PSP X2 I got an error popup telling me
documents colors were converted to the working space'
Embedded <empty>
Working sRGB Color Space Profile
See attached snapshot
Whats wrong?
Why does PSP have to convert the colors.
How can I prevent this?

Re: PSP warning 'documents colors were converted to the working space' sRGB Color Space Profile PSPX2
You don't need to prevent it, it's actually a good thing. PSP is just letting you know what's going on before making a move. You can tell it to ignore the colorspace but that's not a good idea. PSP will always use whatever color space has been selected as the default. The question is should it convert one color space to the default one and keep the colors as close as possible? Or should it ignore the embedded space and possibly distort the colors.
A color space tells PSP what version of red, green, and blue their different values should come out to. Pure red for example might look different in one color space compared to another. There are tons of color spaces and occasionally the image you're bringing it has a defined embedded color space that's different from the Working Color Space you have set in PSP. Which, by default, is sRGB which is the most universal version. Photoshop has something similar, it defaults to AdobeRGB. Converting means calculating the closest equivalent RGB values to get the same color so that the colors are as similar as possible. If you don't convert it, then the color of pixels might look anywhere from slightly to very different once PSP opens it. So you either want PSP to convert the colors, or you want to setup PSP to default to your Samsung Profile and that profile needs to be installed on your computer and available to PSP.
Now, the options for this are found in File -> Color Management -> Color Workingspace.
Click on the drop-down for default working space to change the default to one of the available options.

If I remember corrctly PSP do not support the extended color spaces as Adobe RGB which have more colors than sRGB. It's a limit in PSP that should have been fixed, but normally it has little impact on your pictures.
If you open a picture with aRGB in PSP it automatically convert it to sRGB. That is what this warning tells you.

Not sure what you mean by can't support AdobeRGB as it is one of the working Color space options. PSP only supports working in a single color space at any time. But if you have the color space file PSP should be able to use it.

Thats exactly the problem: it IS converted but its is displayed afterwards incorrectly (at least) in PSP X2.
Possibly this bug is fixed in later releases.
Any chance to fix this problem in PSP X2?
Have a look at the attached sample snapshot.
To prevent conversion by forum software during upload I add a zipped version.
Add thats what I see after conversion (Click to enlarge):

Here's the topic I was thinking of - https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?p ... ce#p383022
And it's by you. So we've been through this before. As I mention both there and here you can set it to Ignore the Embedded color space. And since both images are using sRGB no color distortion should occur by just importing it like that.
But as this seems to have happened with both your xiaomi and samsung phones. I'm guessing it's a problem specific to X2 that just wasn't caught.

I have not noticed that I can select AdobeRGB as standard workspace in PSP, but I will surely try when I'm back at my photo PC later this evening! ( I useAdobeRGB in camera and in my RAW developer. )LeviFiction wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 2:09 pm Not sure what you mean by can't support AdobeRGB as it is one of the working Color space options.
