Occasionally I have a photo *.jpg file which - when viewed with one of the many picture viewers (e.g. XnView) - shows the photo in the correct orientation.
That mean just as it was taken previously.
Now when I load such a *.jpg picture into PSP X2 then it is rotated by 90deg counterclockwise.
Unfortunately the Smartphone must have added a wrong, misleading "rotate" flag into EXIF header (I am not sure).
Have a look at the attached sample picture.
How can I tell PSP to show the dragged *.jpg file human visible in the correct orientation (=WITH rotate flag interpretation)?
...AND after modification of the *.jpg file in PSP save it in the current look WITH zero rotation?
CLick on the following thumbnail twice to get the original image and download it to your hard disk if needed
Let PSP show the image (rotated?) as in all other viewers?

In older versions of PSP there was an option, I think under File->Preferences->File Format that would allow you to choose whether or not to auto-rotate. Later they made it the default, though I don't remember which version this change happened.
I downloaded the image you posted and in PSP 2022 it opens in portrait mode. I don't have X2 to try it on.

I loaded your image in PSP X7 and it displays in portrait mode.
I loaded in PSP 8 (Jasc) and it displayed in landscape mode.
I rotated it and saved it.
Now it displays in portrait mode in PSP 8 (see attached).
