Clone tool not working properly

I use PSP X9 and am suddenly having problems with the clone tool. It won't completely remove the area I'm trying to clone out. If I go over it multiple times, it starts to look pixelated. I've reset PSP by holding down the shift key when starting it, which gave me a new problem...Script Error msg that wouldn't go away. After dealing with that for a while, I think I got that problem solved. The clone issue still remains though. Is there anything else I can do?

Have you tried resetting just the clone tool?

No, I didn't know you could do that! I tried it and it fixed it! Thank you so much. There's always something new to learn.
