I have an greyscale image that has been colorized by an on line AI system. The colours are good but the converted image was small so I resized it to match that of the original greyscale version; the result is that it now looks a bit soft so I want to combine/blend it with the original greyscale version to put back some sharpness.
What is the best way to combine/blend the two to get a sharper colour image?

The greyscale image should be in 16 million colors (RGB 8bit).
Place the colorized image above the greyscale image.
Change the layer's blend mode to Color.
